Re: Red Dead Redemption
You wouldn't happen to be the legendary wolf "Lobo", would you?
Anyways, I am about to beat the game within the next hour I believe. I am near the end, I know it....... The thing is, I don't want it to end. I will definitely be replaying this game soon.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Red Dead Redemption
"I Know You" stranger quest spoilers.
SpoilerCompleted the entire quest in the Great Plains? Continue...
SpoilerSo, I guess he was God. Very weird to put something like this in there. Or it could just be John smoking those funny cigarettes. Regardless, it was a very odd quest. Just wondering what everyone's take on this is.SpoilerRemember in the last (I know you) cutscene he said,"hmmm...this seems like a good place" and low and behold that's where Johns body was buried! So maybe the guy was god...or John just knew he was gonna die because there was no way to trust the agents and was imagining it. Cool stuff.
Funny Story:
Spoiler
In armadillo, when I first got there with John, I did the quest where you had to get the package(drugs) from the docks then take it to the man to collect the money($1000)
Well, lol, I never returned the money and kept playing through the game. I went back as Jack and when I went through the door, the guy said,"Hmm, you look eerily familiar to someone I used to know"
Game is amazing.
And oh yea, I tore his *** up, Omar Little style.

Re: Red Dead Redemption
By the way, having beaten the game finally I feel comfortable saying this is my favorite game. From the story to the atmosphere to the total immersion, this is the most fun I have ever had with a game.
Now, onwards to 99%! (I didn't do the 'I Know You' sidequest which apparently can't be done after beating the game.)Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

SpoilerHe also said something that tipped it, when John said "Damn you." He responded "Many people have." or something like that. He could be death.
Your funny story is awesome. I have a save right before Johns last mission, but I don't want to do all the stranger quests in his Rancher attire. So I might go through as Jack just to see if anything like this happens. I just miss everyone recognizing me by name.Last edited by Chizzypoof; 05-26-2010, 01:18 AM.Comment

SpoilerIm going to TRY and continue playing as Jack, but dammit, its just not the same!!
When I killed the agent, I made sure to shotgun/rifle his body until that **** was floating down the river.
And seriously, this game might be the best looking game console game I've ever played. From an animation/lighting standpoint, to the way the whole world interacts...They could make me cough up $5-10 a month if this were an MMO that kept expanding.Last edited by Shakedowncapo; 05-26-2010, 01:36 AM.Comment

You should modify your post to say End Game Spoiler warning. We aren't just talking about I Know You in there.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
SpoilerI unloaded the entire clip from my High Power Pistol into his face. During the duel. I got that reticule on his face, hit R1 8 times really fast, and then let 'em fly. Never in a video game have I wanted the ability to spit on something so bad. I would've loved to have done that.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

End game:

Spoiler
When going to the last duel, I heard the ducks in the air. I actually shot some first, thinking that I never saw ducks before and they might sell well.
Any problems I have with this game is so minor in the grand scale of things. Even the difficulty or lack of, was ok with me. It allowed me to enjoy the game instead of looking for health packs the whole time.
They even put some variety into missions, with the herding, wrangling and duel missions. It was a breath of fresh air for open world gaming that has been very cookie cutter lately. Every main mission line had a purpose and story pushing it. There were no missions lines, maybe with the exception of the coked out Professor, that I thought "Why am I helping him/her?" That's something I thought often with GTA IV and many open world games. Thankfully the Professor line lasted all of three missions.
There is no other game I can think of where almost everything is interactive. Whatever you see you can shoot, that is just amazing. R* really brought open world to new heights.
My favorite random event happens in Armadillo and the bandits on horseback are riding into town shooting their guns. I stand in the middle of the street waiting. I gun them all down with 4 shots using Dead eye. Their horses continue to run past me and their bodies lay in front of me. It feels so right.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
Awesome. Just awesome. (End Game Spoiler)
SpoilerI delivered the package, got Mr. Tollets' $1000 and brought it back to him. He said, and I quote, "Knew your father was the sort to be trusted". Yes. Just awesome. It's that kind of attention to detail that sets this game apart.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Red Dead Redemption
Some of the conversations between John and the Uncle character are some of the funniest things I've ever heard in a video game.. "You're about to have a bad case of 'I got a bullet in my head' if you don't hurry the hell up"Comment

And one last event that I forgot to bring up..
In Armadillo, there was this this guy on some mini stage protesting(about 10 people were gathered around him) the government...Well, the officers didn't take to kindly to that and just rolled up and riddled him with bullets. JUST HIM!
LOL.Comment
