Re: Max Payne 3
Started the single player, and so far I have to say the the style the cut-scenes are done in is incredible annoying to me. Honestly, the different effects are completely overdone to me, I am getting a headache from watching them. Does there really need to be a different effect every 10 seconds? Overall, the gun-play/bullet time action is fun, but I am bit iffy about everything else at the moment. So far it is a solid game, but I am not overly impressed at the moment.Last edited by mgoblue678; 05-15-2012, 02:03 PM.My Teams

Re: Max Payne 3
2. Graphics seem solid to me. I wouldn't call them groundbreaking or anything, though. Animations are pretty nice and some destructibility being present is a nice touch as well.
3. Not really IMO, other than bullet time it feels like a completely different game. Some people may like that, I personally do not at the moment. Obviously we knew Rockstar was taking the series in a little different direction, but I did expect it to be as radically different as it is so far. To be fair, I have only played for a hour or two though, so maybe it will start to feel a little more like a Max Payne game as it goes on.Last edited by mgoblue678; 05-15-2012, 02:02 PM.My Teams

1. Game is obviously quite violent, particularly the slow mo kills.

I hope the bullet hits the spot where it's intended. In one of the videos it looks like the bullet is automatically directed at the bad guy's eye instead of where the gun was pointed. Hopefully I'm just seeing things.Last edited by WildFan22; 05-15-2012, 02:04 PM.Comment

Re: Max Payne 3
Just to elaborate on my previous post, the gameplay does feel like the previous Max Payne games with bullet time and the shoot dodging, but the some of the other elements feel like a completely different game. The only similarity I have noticed outside the gameplay, is the fact that Max still has a inner monologue thing going on. If you enjoyed the gameplay of Max Payne 1 and 2, you will like the gameplay in this one, though.Last edited by mgoblue678; 05-15-2012, 02:21 PM.My Teams

Re: Max Payne 3
There are actually three aiming options. There is automatic type where it snaps to targets (might have been what you saw in that video), another where it gives a slight aim assist in terms of snapping to targets, and a completely aim assist free aiming option. I am using the last option, the one without any aim assist and bullets defiantly go where your reticule is pointed.

Re: Max Payne 3
Story seems alright (keep in mind I have only played for a couple hours). Max's addiction to alcohol and painkillers and his families deaths still haunting him have been a focal point so far. My issue so far is with the style the cutscenes are presented in, with effects occurring so frequently. Seems overdone to me. The main plot in the game does seem a little generic so far, but I am early in the game so things may get more interesting and there may be some more twists and turns as you get further in the game. At least I hope so, because the first two games had quite a few plot twists and that is something I liked about them.Last edited by mgoblue678; 05-15-2012, 02:31 PM.My Teams
