    Re: Fallout: New Vegas

As I decompressed and recovered from the NLCS yesterday I had a good session with this game.

There are so many missions it's a little overwhelming, in a good way. I did pick up my first companion Boone. I think he's better than Fawkes from the first game. He takes my kills.

It's Repconn HQ, you are thinking of the Test facility. I got it by using grenades to knock it around until it was exposed enough to grab. Now I ran into something else frustrating at the end of the ED-E My Love quest

Edit:So I parted ways with Boone hoping it would help with the ED-E quest problem

So... I just figured out that you can have more than one companion at once.

I had thought I read that you could have multiple companions, but when I got Boone and Cass it wouldn't let me have them both.

                Spoiler

Also, I found one of my favorite places out of both fallout games. A place called Jacobstown. Not really much to do, but I thought it was interesting, and I think I may be able to get a new (maybe better) companion if I complete the quest I got there.

For those who are debating downloading the patch, I have not had a freeze in the 6-7 hours I have played since downloading the patch on the new 360. I may be in the minority here, but no problems so far.

                    F me...

All but one of my saves is corrupted, but dunno if I want to go back and do that 1-2 hours of stuff again just to have it glitch.

Basically when it tries to load there's a DLC unavailable error and then a storage device error...people have noted it on the bethesda and gamefaqs boards, and the devs acknowledged looking into it.

I've read it MAY (not certain) be a result of a space suit you can pick up, so you may want to just pass on that armor.

I may reload and try redoing it, but this is really frustrating!

If you tell a companion that you are done with them (say, if I want to try out a new one), can you get them back or do you lose them forever? And if so do they stay where you left them or go back to where you originally found them?

I've read that they go back to where you found them, or later on you have a home base or something (no clue, not that far) where they'd go...but you can swap companions from what I understood...

I just turned it on to mess around. Looks pretty nice, much better than 3 by default. Didn't even apply the mods yet.

                          Throwing spears ftw!

Too bad it disappeared before I got the pic. The spear was holding his head up on the wall.

I've only dismissed one companion and he told me where he would be (where I found him initially).

I think I'll start backing my saves up every night, with all the save corruption talk.

When you dismiss them a box will pop up telling you the location they are going to be waiting at. It usually is where you first meet them.

I got like 30 hours into Fallout 3. Not once did it occur to me to use textures from one body with the meshes from another to get the one I actually wanted. It did for this. So one part of my character looks better. Now I need to get these face mods working.

Oh and anyone else with the PC version and more than 4 gigs of RAM should use this: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloa...e.php?id=35262

It enables the game to access up to 4 gigs to use instead of the default 800mb. Should reduce freezing, glitches etc.
