Not sure why they would reduce characters down to 10. I am more disappointed by the whole band issue of not having the same one touring with you.

I guess we will see impressions tomorrow from people.

Ugh! Really on that first point? Is that confirmed? That's awful.

And on the second point - doesn't bother me too much - but I wish they would setup local leaderboards for party play. I drag RB to my skihouse all season long and it would be cool if it kept track of the best local performances. Just something simple like where everyone enters their initials.

On the other hand, you haven't even mentioned the new gameplay modes with the keyboard, pro keyboard, and the pro guitar, all three of which appear to be very well done.

If the little things are bothering you, that's your opinion and the rest of us will begin to form ours tomorrow, but you aren't giving credit to this game for what it does - and appears to do well - that other rhythm games simply cannot.

What is the "stand in mess"? I have not really paid a whole lot of attention to this game, or any game, for awhile.

your stand-ins can't be assigned to a specific instrument. the game randomly assigns them.

John Lennon's "Imagine" album will be DLC soon.

Harmonix is bringing out all the big guns. The Doors, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, and John Lennon.

Very exciting time for the franchise.

Seems like you've had it a while because of all the stuff you have found out you can and cannot do.
I don't have it but people that HAVE had it for 3-4 weeks confirmed this stuff or have showed it in videos and streams. Don't need to play it myself to know these things aren't good and despite HMX/Viacom efforts and what I'll guess was reviewer oversights they're not that hard to find out.

I was going over the negative things and downgrades as that's what was specifically asked. I said nothing positive or negative towards pro mode. Regardless it appears we're up the river in Canada, even on the keyboard and I wouldn't be buying more instruments anyway. You can play the non-pro keys on the guitar but there's about 3 songs I'd want to actually play and suprisingly none of them made it. The string guitar isn't even out until next year.

Those things are hardly little to me. They're all a big part of the game and overall experience. What if you went to a...Muse...concert and Matt Bellamy was playing drums that looked like they cost $50 at a garage sale while wearing a t-shirt and jeans anyone else would wear lounging around on a Saturday afternoon and Dominic Howard was singing lead instead of playing the drums? Wouldn't be too pleased would you? You'd be saying WTF is this?

They stay set for your current session after you play one song and the best solution anyone has is to back out of all the menus over and over until they're placed how you want them.

It is the same one that'll be touring with you they just won't be in proper places all the time. They've claimed it's due to having party play but it's not a problem in GH so I doubt that's the real reason.

The actual character creator is a nice improvement. Just what you can/can't do with them after creation...

Lip synching doesn't count. That's what I get for picking a random band. I don't think Bono and Edge ever switched places so there.

On a completely unrelated note, Rock Band needs much more Muse.

Given that we have a piano now, we could (hopefully) see songs like New Born, Feeling Good, United States of Eurasia, Sing For Absolution... I could keep going on.

(can you tell I'm going to a Muse concert on Wednesday? )

I don't like Muse much, but I would agree that it could use much more "good" bands (that is, those who many people do like, even if I don't). There are a lot of questionable DLC choices out there for sure.

Can I use the GNR Chinese Democracy album download with this game?

Yes. All DLC will work this game.

As of tomorrow they no longer work with RB 1 or 2.

I beg your pardon? This is news to me. Are you saying that all DLC we've purchased will be unplayable tomorrow with our RB2 discs? I thought we just couldn't download anything else new (that is, anything released tomorrow and in the future).

Well, this certainly pushes me to get RB3 by Christmas. I can't let 300 songs go to waste.
