Re: Gears of War 3
Same here. GOW2, I got bored with Horde fairly quick after we beat all 50 levels.
Base building keeps it fresh cause you have other objectives you have to do other than just killing locusts.
As for the "classic" horde, I guess best thing would be to just not buy a base and build anything?
Has anyone noticed that the dummies were missing on Horde last night? Maybe it was just me, but I couldn't find any dummies to buy/upgrade.
I also saw a new gun that I've never seen before. It was carried by a Boomer, but instead of taking flight, the bullet would burrow under ground and detonate when it hits you.
I hope the DLC brings more guns/expansion to Base Building.Comment

Re: Gears of War 3
Finished the game a couple days ago and waited to post my comments but overall... I'm disappointed with the story. It was just alright and brought too new questions and didn't answer enough questions.
SpoilerI have a lot of minor issues with the overall pacing and story but my biggest is the ending itself. We find out that the Locust worked with the humans on some degree before E-day. Who is the queen? Is she human? Why didn't they ask questions? Instead Marcus just guts her. I understand he is pissed but the two characters that had all the answers died within a minute of each other.
I also felt this magic machine killing the Locust was a cop out. I understand killing anyone infected but them as well was too much.
I've always loved the Gear's world but felt this game didn't properly close. The only one that had questions about all this stuff was Baird and then the game just ignored it.Comment

No real closure to the Gears World.Comment

Re: Gears of War 3
I know everyone is feeling it but I find this game boring as hell. I think I got my fill in the first two. I'm in act 2 and I can't take anymore. Back to Gamestop it goes.Comment

I think the story is actually much better than the first two. However, as someone else mentioned it does seem a little bit easier this time around. Maybe my tune will change when I go back through it on insane.

Re: Gears of War 3
I really enjoyed Gears 3 a lot and felt the story was strong, but what Cyros posted was a major disappointment.
SpoilerEven worse was when Adam kept trying to tell Marcus about the Queen and Marcus kept cutting him off.
The one issue with Gears 3 is that we had more questions raised than answers. At first after beating the game I was quite happy with the ending and pacing of the game/story. The more I have thought about this a week later, there is a ton of things left unanswered. We might get answers in a prequel or DLC, but wished some of these bigger things were answered, especially what was on that disc.Comment
