Blah...muscling through the single player, beat the first two, still have no idea what the frak a lambent is, but man, is this a bore! In Act 4, and it's another "hey dude, we need something", "OK, do this thing for me and you'll get it". Ugghhh...

The fact that there aren't a lot online for multiplayer sucks as well, at least when I've been looking for a game. Cue up the typical "there are tons online", yeah, but I hate randoms, so the point holds true.

I know that I'm close to giving up gaming in general, as there are other things I'd rather do, but AAA titles like this should hold my interest, not make me wish I was reading my Kindle, or playing a boardgame with my family, or frankly, folding laundry, LOL.

Gears 2 introduced lambent. It also explained what happened.

Sucks your not enjoying the game johnny. I personally thought the campaign was well written (could of explain the queen better) and the multiplayer was fun as well.(except sawed off, still not enough to ruin the multiplayer for me though).

As for the whole do this and I'll give you this, you got to figure that supplies are scarce and people arent going to give you stuff without something in return especially with the world in a ****ty state it's in.

Nope it shows my NAT as OPEN right in the menus of the game. Don't know how you haven't experienced this. Maybe your playing private horde with friends? I'm talking about standard horde where the game searches for random players.

I never played Gears 2 right after release so I wouldn't know. I picked it up a couple months after release and never had a connection problem playing online.

Nope. I'm playing standard horde, managed to get a standard horde game up to wave 44 last night until we decided to call it quits. Played countless standard horde without this happening.

Be grateful you missed out on the awful Gears 2 connections at release.

There isn't even a Jack in the Box in the midwest at all, let alone near me. I was hoping to get a liquid green skin as well but unfortunately it looks like we're out of luck.

Count me as one not big on the storyline either. I finished Gears 1 and really liked the storyline, only got through part of Gears 2 (lost it). The writing in the first Act of Gears 3 was borderline atrocious imo with all the silliness and goofy lines. I'm only in Act II (or III, don't remember) and it has gotten considerably better. Still seems a ways off from what Gears 1 was in terms of the story. The graphics are great. But from the perspective of someone that plays mostly offline there doesn't appear to be much to do once I finish campaign

Yeah me too. I still thoroughly enjoyed this game's campaign though, much better than the bore that was GoW2 IMO.

Beat the game, it was alright. Multiplayer is pretty cool. I stink though but still fun.

The horror elements were very cool. Cliffy has said that he wants to do a survival horror game for years, even before Gears 1, but they wouldn't let him do it at the time. He has gone on record saying that the next game he wants to make is a survival horror game.

What a way to have Dom die.... he looks at Maria's family grave then gives up his life to save Marcus and crew....

Wow just wow. I'll finish up the campaign tomorrow and give my final thoughts

Yes from the berserkers surprise attack to the boomers first appearance. Gears 1 was beast forgot the act/chapter where its raining an once your inside the building you walk on these boarded floors that fall, you have to listen for the sound.

They put some cog tags in plain view you stop an go for them forgetting the boards fall an if/as soon as u fall a whole bunch of dark wretches attack you.

Gears 3 campaign was good but not on the level of the first one especially with that ending. More important questions left unanswered and ignored. Multiplayer is the highlight of saving 3 way better then that cheating lag fest of gears 2 that I managed to put up with for 2 years.

It kind of bummed me out when we didn't really get to find out who this Myrrah person REALLY is. She looks human, but is the Queen of the locust.

I can't help but think she was Marcus's mother... just the way Adam Fenix reacted in some of the dialogue between him and Marcus regarding Myrrah was just a bit odd. Especially when Marcus said she was dead and Adam responded with "Oh...I see". Oh well I guess we'll never know.

Anyway good end I think, would've been nice to have a short cut scene after the credits maybe showing their lives 10+ years after the lambant and Locust were destroyed.

Word out on the **** forums is that Myrrah is something to do with the Sires in GoW2, and her real name might be Ruth (in one of the collectibles in Gears 2.)
