Nintendo needs to take my money. These two were probably my favorite Pokemon games as a kid growing up, so a remake is really exciting.

I bought a 3DS for X and while I played the hell out of the game for a month, I haven't played it much since. My 3DS hasn't seen much play time of late but that will surely change when SSB comes out and especially when Ruby and Sapphire come out.

I logged more hours into Ruby than I care to admit and having a remake is just awesome. I can't wait!

Was hoping they would release Pokemon Z instead of remakes.

Yeah Pokemon X/Y is kind of lacking, but... I'm still playing it.

And I'm stoked for the remakes. RSE was my favorite gen, as far as cartridge games goes.

I also bought a 3DS for the Pokemon (Y in this case) and I honestly haven't played it much either. In terms of the graphical and 3-D world improvements, the game is awesome. The world and map of Pokemon X and Y is really great but for me this game is lack replay value.

There isn't much to do after you beat the game (i.e. 8 badges/elite four). The whole Battle Frontier thing that Emerald introduced was amazing. HG/SS and B/W 2 have the best replay value in my opinion.

I guess I'd just like to see a little more variety and post-game play.

That thing actually gets quite a bit of use in the competitive scene.

Emerald replayability >>>>> every other game because of its battle frontier imo.

Silver and Gold were probably my old time favorite. I would say Blue was because I spent the most time with it by far and of course you alway remember your first lol

Silver though just expanded on a already great game that was blue and sometimes I wish I could go back in the day as a kid when I had no worries except what level my pokemon were haha

They better not have changed the Abandoned Ship theme too much in the remakes. My favorite song in Pokemon for whatever reason:

FYI there's a Pokemon 3d game you can play for free. No idea how long it's been out so maybe I'm late tithe party lol. I think if you just google Pokemon 3d it will come up. Really interesting. If I had this as a kid I would've never left the house.

                          Re: The Pokemon Thread

Started a new game of Pokémon Heart Gold to help me through my final exams and things kinda got out of hand as I've logged like 20 hours of the 27 I've played so far during that period of time (about 9 days). Have 5 badges right now and I'm in the process of grinding for the sixth. Problem is this time around I'm not really sticking with the same team and right now choosing between:
                          - Starter Quilava lvl 25 (also the first time I've kinda neglected my starter, it feels like therapy at times)
                          - Fearow lvl 27
                          - Quagsire lvl 24
                          - Dratini lvl 27
                          - Steelix lvl 23
                          - Nidoqueen lvl 23
                          - Togetic lvl 26
                          - Sandslash lvl 23
                          - Weepinbell lvl 25 (Victreebel when I can get my hands on a bloody leaf stone.. Saturday?)
                          - Nidorino lvl 20 (Wanna train it to 43 before getting Nidoking)
                          - Furret lvl 18 (The HM slave so I'll have to keep it around for most of the time)
                          And I also have a tentacool (25), Machop (19), Sudowoodo (20) and Growlithe (18) that I don't really use.

Decisions man.. Not really used to playing this way so it's fun.
That's not an insult, THAT is just a fact of life.

About to embark upon my first attempt at the Nuzlocke challenge. Not sure which game (either Heartgold or Pokemon X) I'll go with, but I'm definitely going to fire it up tonight. Any hints from anyone that has tried/completed it? I know it's one of the hardest things in gaming to complete officially, so I want to make sure I go in with the right strategy.

I would do Heart Gold, mainly because I love that gen & there are 16 badges.

Prepare yourself to rage a lot if you do want to start one lol. I know I quit one before on like the second gym (Fire Red run there) because Misty hit a critical hit on my starter and killed it.
