As bad as texting while driving was this is ten times worse. Maybe after the initial craze dies down people will be more responsible but right now people are just losing their damn minds over it and if people being inconvenienced at not being able to play while riding in a car eliminates the hazard of morons behind the wheel then I'd say it's a necessary evil. And as a person that hates being constrained and not able to make my own decisions because of the stupidity of a few I don't like having that opinion but things are going to go very badly with the way people are abusing this right now.

I agree with both of these posts. I generally pride myself on not using my phone when I drive (if I have to message someone, I just speak to Siri and get her to do it for me), but I had it out the first day this came out and nearly got into an accident. They added a handy feature where you can flip your phone upside down and it makes the screen go black while you still get credit for moving around (main purpose of this is to hatch eggs), so I just do that if I'm driving.

I'm going to be riding passenger on a long car ride tomorrow though, so I'm happy that I'll be able to keep an eye out for any Pokemon while I ride along.

The thing is I wonder how many people realize that for hatching eggs you have to be moving under I believe 12 mph/20 kph. So pretty much you can't be driving or it won't register your distance traveled.

Granted some people say it works up to 25 mph but I know I tried the driving method once and got no time so I just leave the phone in my pocket. Wish I could be a passenger to grab the poke stops as we drive by lol

Yeah, it's not good for when you're on the highway or anything, but it definitely works when you're on side roads/have traffic lights every few feet and stuff.

I'm pretty sure I ripped through 15 on a 200 Raticate when I was a low level and had no Razz Berries. And I still didn't get him. I gave up and walked away.

A couple days ago I went through 8 on the only Pikachu I've seen so far and I still didn't get him either. And I fed him 3 berries.

I saw a Dragonair yesterday and went through 10 ultra balls/razz berries and he broke out each time, then finally ran away. Pretty bummed out about it.

It's not darwanism when those who don't know how to play it responsibly are hurting/injuring people not playing at all.

Ultra balls? What level do you have to be to get those? I just got great balls at level 12 I believe.

Think I got them at level 20.

I saw this giant bird pop up today. I'm not sure what it was but it was three steps away and I prolly wouldn't have been able to catch whatever it was because I was only level 3 anyways. It wasn't any of the Pidgey birds cuz I've already caught like 100 of them and evolved. Nothing but Pidgey and Weedle.

Driving home from work today and a car is pulled over on the side of my street (very strange) and two people are outside of the car with their phones. Clearly know what they were doing. This **** is crazy.

I'm clearly not as into it as others. But I've played enough to get to level 4 in 4 days or so, and I can see why people like it so much. Especially if you are around my age and Pokémon was at its peak when you were in 5th grade or so. Lots of nostalgia.

                                The Pokemon Thread

Can't get over how big this has become. Saw a Blastoise silhouette while shopping in a downtown area yesterday. Walked around for awhile trying to find it with no luck. Eventually I noticed several people running toward a street corner and followed to find a crowd of well over 50 on their phones trying to catch it. Crazy.

I never thought I'd witness a 60 year old man stoping his family on the sidewalk saying "Wait, I have to get this Pokestop."
