    The Pokemon Thread

    I bought a 3DS just to play Red and Yellow. I also got Super Mario World. I should have kept my old one.
    MLB: Texas Rangers
    Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
    NCAA: SMU, UTA
    NFL: Dallas Cowboys
    NHL: Dallas Stars
    NBA: Dallas Mavericks

        Cool to see so many of you play Pokemon still, I picked up Yellow to go with new 3DS XL. Don't know if any of you have a Wii U but Pokken Tournament comes out next week on the 18th and that looks amazing.

                I've never played a Pokemon game, but I'm interested in trying one out to see if it may be something I'd like. I own a GBA, DS and 3DS. What game (and system it's on) would you recommend I start with?

                    FireRed or LeafGreen on the GBA.

                    If you like that one, I'd move on to HeartGold or SoulSilver.

                        Yeah I'd go with what Gengar said (great name btw) and get FireRed or LeafGreen. Pokemon games hold their value really well for obvious reasons but you can pick up a used on eBay pretty cheap.

                                        Yeah same, it's not showing in the Play Store for me but was able to install using the apk.

                                        Did you get a choice of pokemon to start with? Only a Bulbasaur showed up for me when I first started the game.

                                            I got all 3 as a choice, so I went with squirtle.

                                                    Just downloaded the game and started with Charmander. Instantly found a Spearow in the room I was already in. I imagine there is no battles in this game?

                                                            You can battle other players' pokemon at gyms, but only there. Can't battle your friends or anything like that.
