Re: Civilization V
How graphically intensive is this game in strategic mode? I've wanted to play it for the longest time, but have never had a gaming PC. I just read about the strategic view however. I have a very pedestrian laptop that is mostly used for school work. It's by no means a gaming laptop, but I don't know how much juice I'd need for this.
Thanks!Comment

Re: Civilization V
I also just started a new civ game(Have all add ons) a few days ago. I started on a lower level and to more feel for the game then planned to raise difficulty.
Anyway after a while it became evident that the random map generated was all just small islands and no large land masses lol
Starting over...Joshua:

I was playing a game a few weeks ago and the map turned out to be one huge snaking continent. I like "realistic" maps so I was playing with Hemispheres, it essentially rendered my navy useless because half the oceans were landlocked.

Re: Civilization V
I still play this from time to time. I love it, I can easily binge on this game if I am not careful lol.Comment

Re: Civilization V
Does anyone use the UI "Mod"?
The game doesn't actually see it as a mod really. It goes into the games Asset/DLC folder. So it's always active and doesn't have to be enabled.
I really like it.

Re: Civilization V
Ive started using the UI mod as well. Took a bit of getting used to at first but now I dont think I could play without it (which is common it seems.) I love how much info is available without having to click through menus, just feels much more streamlined. Ive been using it with the Community Patch mod (which is also absolutely amazing btw!) and it feels "right."Comment

Re: Civilization V
The game and all expansions/DLC are on sale for $12.27, so I had to grab this. The game I played in the series the most is II by far followed by III. Never really got into IV and don't see myself getting into this nearly as much either. But for this price, I'll definitely play a few campaigns and be happy about it.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 07-25-2016, 08:41 AM.Comment
