Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
I don't know if anyone is interested in checking this out, but here's a link to an interview I did with Curt Schilling earlier this week.
It's a pretty good read, but words can't convey how passionate this guy is about the business. I've interviewed a lot of people in my career, and I could tell he is very genuine when he talks about his love for gaming and Reckoning.
And I'm about a dozen hours into the game already and I can't see how anyone will be disappointed with the final product. The demo barely scratches the surface of what this game is all about. It's really, really, good.Comment

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
So what's more important than the gameplay? See: Final Fantasy XIII. If it's tttthhhhhaaaaatttttt much better like he says then it should also be given 9.5. Not that Fallout,Skyrim or Dark Souls deserved those scores anyway as two were glitchy messes at the time, one still is and the other is just poorly designed.Comment

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
The logic is logic/common sense. You can look at a game and tell it has bad graphics so you can also tell something is bad design just by being aware of it. Take the recent NFL Blitz for example,I only played the demo but I know only being able to get credits and therefore unlocks from online games is absolutely awful especially with the state of online gaming in addition to having to pay to play online on the 360. I didn't play Skyrim on the PS3 but I know for the first 2 months it was broken and ceased to function properly after 20 hours. Then when they fixed that the dragons were flying backwards. I didn't have to play it to know that this is in no way a good thing.
And for the record my comment was about Demon's Souls in the overrated games topic. I believe all I said about Dark Souls was the combat or movement animations looked terrible when I was watching someone play it. Of course you know me,if I did play it I'd find at least 20 more things wrong with it.Comment

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
I finally got around to playing the Demo and I was not disappointed with the game. I thought it kind of reminds me of WOW but the fighting was done really well. I probably won't buy it when it first comes out but it is worth buying.PS3, we had a good run! (7/18/09-10/5/14)Comment

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Football season is over so of course I'm changing it. Having a football logo when it's not football season? See logic and common sense! I'll change it again for baseball season too once the Red Wings are done barring a non-Leafs Canadian team in the Cup finals.
Can't pre-load this on steam.Last edited by goh; 02-06-2012, 05:58 PM.Comment

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Been playing most of the day on PC and I really like it. I haven't had any issues at all and my gripes from the demo are gone.
There ar some slight delays in combat that do throw me off though but I'll have to get used to them. For instance when I block a blow and then immediately hit the swing button I always have to hit it a second time in order to swing, if you pause for a second then it registers. Other than that the combat is enjoyable and there are some pretty cool moves in the game.
There is a lot of dialog on the game and it's all well voiced, especially a certain canine quest.
I am playing on Hard mode and it isn't too difficult you do have to be aware of enemies combo attacks that will drain your health quickly. I don't think you get better loot the enemies are just harder.XBL: Countach
