I only played a couple of hours last night, but FUN is what goes through my mind thinking about the game today. I love being able to attack with two different weapons and magic without having to pause and fiddle with a menu. The creatures in the game look great. It's easy to see the passion these guys put into their game. I'm excited about this studio and happy to support them.

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
The only thing I wish was better (4 hrs in) is the integration of a main story. Sometimes it feels like an empty MMO.DON'T PANICComment

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
I wish you could hotkey more than 4 abilities at once.. Especially with being able to go up 3 skill trees at once, you've got a ton of skills at your disposal but can only use 4 at a time.. I don't even know what half of my mage spells look like because I have used the same 4 the whole game..Comment

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
I'm similar, level 6 I believe, and I've only done two or three parts of the main quest. I'm enjoying doing the Faction quests too much right now. But mostly, I just walk around and explore, going to all the parts on my map that are still blacked out. The world is beautiful and combat is a dream to use.Comment

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Yeah, I've barely touched the main quest too. The House of Ballads and Worsworn quests have my attention at the moment. So much awesome loot in this game and you're frequently coming across stuff that's better than what you have, especially with Detect Hidden skill to see hidden treasures and secret doors.
I'm surprised how technically polished this game is on PS3. You still see the PS3 getting the short end of the stick, even this far into the generation with multiplatform games, but Reckoning runs really well. It's a welcome sight coming from the issues that plagued Skyrim on the system.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Spoiler
So I make my way to the Warsworn castle and bring my commendation to join. All is good. I step outside and make my way east. Right next to the Warsworn castle is a crazy dude who's set up camp and he has a quest icon over his head. I talk to him and long story short, I need to steal a potion for him that's inside the Warsworn head dude's chambers. I remember one of the first people I talked to said not to go in there but I'm thinking, what the heck, it's just a game, I'll give it a shot.
Inside the main guy's room, I find the potion, but I literally have to steal it and there's a guard patrolling that section of the castle. It says I have a 99% chance of getting caught. Again, I think, it's just a game, how bad can it be? So I steal it...and the guard comes after me! Not to arrest me but to fight me. I take him down...but as I walk into the common area and outside, everyone went from being a white arrow icon to a red arrow icon on my map...they're my enemy now
They're all chasing me at this point but I manage to get away (not before having to kill one more of my "brother in arms"). So, I'm still part of the faction and still have a quest to complete with them...but I can't go near the castle

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
I tried playing as a straight rogue and was getting a bit bored (especially since the main story is slow moving at the beginning). Then I undid my fate and made a Finesse/Sorcery build and Wolverine (my character) became a whirling dervish of death. Combat was fast paced and combos were fun. Additionally the main story finally picked up. I have read several of Salvatore's books and they seem to be slow paced at the beginning...so I suppose the game would be similar.DON'T PANICComment

I like the combat in this game. I have grown more fond of the action rpg and gone away from turn based combat types.

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Unlocked the Battlemage Destiny card. I love the blink teleport that replaces dodge.
Yeah, I would recommend hard. It has still been pretty easy, especially once you start getting better loot with health regen and Fate fills up fast for Reckoning mode, which is the instant win button when in trouble. I've only used it a few times in my 15 hours of play, because it's so powerful. Potions are cheap and plentiful as loot, and there's no cooldown in using them. It's not just health potions, you're getting a ton of status effecting potions too. Apparently, the difficulty picks up once you get out of the first major region (Dalentarth), but there's been enough people saying it's an easy game that Schilling says their looking into adding a Nightmare difficulty. Some skills sound really powerful and could use some balancing. My Sagecraft skill is getting high and I'm able to create some powerful gems that yield some high bonuses when socketed into my loot. Blacksmithing and Mercantile are other skills that I'm reading are really powerful, some are saying, even game breaking.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment
