I've got the SOFLAM and the MAV unlocked. I used the SOFLAM but nobody took advantage of it. The MAV on the other hand was fun to use.

To be honest I hate playing sniper as I love getting on the thick of things. So I just changed scopes and used the acog to get in to the battle rather than set up somewhere far. I'm currently working on getting the invr for the sniper guns before they get nerfed.

That's the problem with the SOFLAM at the moment... your team has to be ready to use it and people seem to ignore it. With a good squad in a mindset to use it I bet it's very powerful.

Oh, and I actually like Recon. Still working to unlock the SOFLAM. Didn't do much killing but provided some great spawn points for my squad.

Complete noob question...But what is considered a good spawn location?

I really dont have any idea. I just kind of randomly put it somewhere close to a flag usually. Most of the time, behind some wall or object. But I really have no clue where a good spawn point would be. lol

When I think of good spawns I think of somewhere relatively safe and close to the point in contention, wether it be an mcom or flag. Just something so that your team/squad doesn't have to run all the way from another flag (assuming its far) or isn't completely pushed back to the deployment zone.

Its not always beacons either, sometimes your squad will get nearly wiped with you being the lone survivor. If its overwhelming then get back to a spot where your squad can spawn safely for another push.

I just got cussed by some 12 yr. old little kid, because he didn't like the way I flew a chopper in the CO-OP Chopper mission. I've beat it, but was killing some time and like perfecting my chopper skills...

I was flying good and he kept bitching and moaning and bitching and moaning and eventually I got tired of it and wrecked the chopper into the ground to end the mission.

APPROVED! I would do the same thing just to annoy the kid but I would play it through where the mission is just about to end then dive bomb to one of the tanks.

I don't get why I have such bad ******* luck with this game. Why am I always on the team that gets down 15-120 in Conquest. I really really want to like this game, I love the gameplay, but I can't deal with how bad my teammates constantly are. In BC2 it was easy to carry a team and win nearly every match if you had a friend or two that was good. It's not so easy in this game. My squad mate and I can both easily get over 5,000 points a game and still lose by 50+ tickets because no one else knows how to play the damn game.

I've gotten to the point where I don't want to play this game just because I am sick of losing every round. It's just frustrating playing with people that have no idea what they're doing. How can you go 0-14 with 240 points?!?! How can my team have 3 players all under 400 points, with 0 kills, but over 10 deaths?

I really just don't get why I have such terrible luck with this game. it's making me not like this game even though I feel like it would be my GOTY if I just had decent teammates that made winning at least a 50/50 chance.

Maybe, just maybe, you're part of the problem. Since teams are picked randomly, you should be getting the better team as often as you get the worse team. What's your W/L?

Any of you PS3 guys who don't mind having a squad member who currently doesn't have a mic feel free to send me a friend request. I joined the platoon thinking I would be able to just drop into games that other people in the platoon are playing in but unless I'm missing something it doesn't look like it works that way, which is a shame cause I need to start playing with people who at least play like they know what the objective of the map is haha. My g/t is duffman1183, like I said no mic but I'll probably be picking one up relatively soon.

I still play this game just about everything night. I love conquest and I love constantly dropping health packs for my squad and having **** battles in conquest.

My XBL is fivedollarpints. I like to think I'm a pretty damn good squad mate. Just ask koolie g and soundchaser.

It goes both ways. You don't have to be a Barry Sanders and try to carry your team. Maybe you should try to feed off your other teammates. I'm not the best BF3 player out there but I work within my team instead of trying to be the All-Star and capture everything.

Another noob question:

How are you guys determining what guns you go with? Put more specifically, what separates guns that fall into the same class?

To me, a rifle is a rifle, a machine gun is a machine gun, a shotgun is a shotgun, etc...I have no clue how to differentiate guns that fall into the same category.

As of right now, when I unlock a new gun, I just go with it as I figure that it must be better than the last. But I know that must not be true as you guys seem to all have different guns that you prefer over others. But I'm just wondering what these subtle nuances are that makes the difference.

Honestly, the only thing that I have managed to notice the difference in are very obvious to anyone.

Like the Aks74 and the AKs74u. One you can hold the trigger and it will let off a whole clip. While the other will let off about three shots in succession. Or the SV98 and MK11. One I can fire off successive shots. The other, is pump action. I go with the MK11 for the sole reason that I can get off more shots in any given time. But I know there has to be some advantage to using the SV98. Right?

I'm just really wanting to learn what these key differences are in the guns. Any help here would be much obliged.
