My go to gun for assault used to be the AEK-971 until the FAMAS came out, for support I use the M249, and for recon I use the M98B

I had a match yesterday with authentic and another OSer (for the life of me can't recall who it was) and I went 29-2 and over half (15!!) of my kills were from mortars.


I kept taking out their mortar guys 2 at a time, and got a few double kills when guys were at the MCOM trying to arm it. I even got a nemesis ribbon...all from mortars. That guy had to have hated me

The other 14 kills literally came at only 2 instances. The first one...the other team all rushed the first MCOM and I took them all out (8 of them since I got a combat effeciency ribbon) and the other time, on the same MCOM, about 3 guys rush but they had a medic that kept reviving the guys I killed so I got 6 kills from that.

Moments like that are why I love LMGs because while they are reloading I can still shoot and take out a bunch of guys at a time, and if I flank a squad I can do work on them.

The only thing I don't like is the terrible inaccuracy of the LMGs. There's been times where I'm at about 10 meters from a guy, and my HOLO sight is aiming right at his chest (I suck at headshots just check my stats) and I fire off maybe 10-20 shots of burst fire and not one hit marker...then I obviously get killed. I'm like WTF? It might be lag I guess, but I know LMGs are programmed to spray a lot. But that's just ridiculous to me

I'm also getting too greedy with knifing people...one time authentic took out a guy I was about to knife and I was like "noooo! I wanted his tags!"

Wow, great round Jnes! I kept trying to join up on PS3 last night but it just wasn't happening, either full or I wind up on the wrong side.

As to the LMG, I love the M249 too. Even with a foregrip it can be a little dodgy, but like you said, you can a lot of times just overpower people with your round count. I also use extended mags for the full 200 round barrage, especially great for suppressing down the alley in Grand Bazaar, and spraying MCOMs after your team arms them.

Happy Birthday Lt. Dan. Yeah, we got slaughtered on Kharg Island last night. I've never gotten destroyed like that before. Then I found out they had like 8 "eagles" on their team and one guy was a level 50. They totally overwhelmed us with the air power. I got a message from nuni or Jistic that just said "they were everywhere!" It was so funny.

Oh it was awful! Was like playing the Gods of BF3 or something. The last set of MCOMs on Kharg at the docks, they literally just parked two tanks outside next to each other and reamed up THAT way, and they had expert pilots using choppers and that DAMN A-10 dude who could shoot a fly off your helmet. Sheeeesh. Felt like a noob all over again.

Hey, according to the bottom of the main page it's my 45th birthday LOL. So I made myself an appropriate avatar for today.

to all my mates here and 'colleagues in arms' on 360 and PS3, and thanks so much for making BF3 as much fun as it can be. That game is only at it's finest when playing with friends! Thank you also for letting me play in the clan, that is great fun!

So, you can repair just sitting there in a chopper? I'll have to try that next time I catch a ride as an engineer. Normally on armor maps though, I'm in a tank, IFV or on foot. I very rarely take to the air.

If there were empty servers for practice, I'd love to learn to be a chopper ace lol.

Lol that was me, we got slaughtered on Kharg ugh! They were literally everywhere. Not good.

I want to, but I end up with the gun over the head glitch all the time. All the default scopes on the new weapons are terrible. Especially, since it defaults to the 12x if you haven't unlocked any other sights.

It's funny how there are all these rush stories. I wanted a change of pace last night and played Rush too. Krzyman, Authentic and two of my friends absolutely slaughtered the other teams. We did the killing on Karhg. I was in the Chopper the entire match, I went 9-1 and my gunner 21-1. The 1 death was because I landed in no mans land to repair only to pull out an AT-Mine. It was funny to see my gunner sitting in the chopper waiting for me to repair. I end up jumping in front of the cockpit and throwing out a mine to let him know the deal. He takes off running with me behind and then poof. I think we died next to each other.

Edit: Happy Birthday LT Dan. I'll shoot the first 7 rpgs in the air in honor of you tonight.

That was the match I joined at the end. You guys were on the last obj defending and it looked like an earthquake was hitting the warehouse. I spawned and died twice and the game was over. You know my disdain for Kharg. No map screams for a mobile AA like that map. So next time when we're defending the 2nd set I'm going all the way to the damn beach and stealing their armor. Gloves are off for that map.

Great playing with you guys last night. I added Lt. Dan but not Nuni, I'll get him tonight.

I've actually never had a problem defending on Kharg with chopppers and jets. I guess I never ran into a good pilot on that map
