I've just found that you can no longer fire the main gun then the canister shell in quick succession. You have to wait for one of the two to reload first. Dam it..

What's the point of using Canister shell then?

You'd be surprised how effective that thing is. Has saved my bacon quite a few times, very deadly at both close and medium ranges, sometimes the better option over the less accurate cannon.

I mean...Its still a lot better at killing infantry than the main shell. Especially at longer distances.

I'll shoot guys point blank with the main gun, only to have them hop away, scurrying off inside some building.

With canister, that has never been an issue. One well placed shot and they're dead.

I think we all tend to just become upset when some of our favorite things to use in game get nerfed. Look at it this way, if the game initially had this delayed mechanic in place, nobody would be calling for DICE to make it so that you can fire your canister shell immediately after the main. And if it did end up like that in a patch without notice, people would complaining that its glitched. Lol

I used to run canister too. But it makes sense imo. Now we'll see more variety in set ups as nobody ran HMG or LMG pre patch.

We might also see different strategies when tanking. Now if you're running canister shell or guided, you're probably best suited to fight at a distance. Maybe even running zoom optics (which no one uses now) to increase your effectiveness.

Meanwhile, running either machine gun will make you more equipped to take out infantry close range. But you will still have to be careful getting into the action as you cant just one shot a C4 dude.

Again, I'm in favor of the changes Dice has been making. I feel like they're making the game more balanced and varied which is a good thing.

Anyone if there is any significant difference say.. the M98B or the L96?

I've been using the L96 lately but then went back to the M98B and it just felt a lot better at long ranges (400+ meters). As there is no actual in depth information on either I guess they are about the same.

I don't know.. I just feel more comfortable at long ranges using the M98B. I was playing Bandar Desert yesterday and my friend got a 637 meter head shot, sitting on top of the crane that pretty much over looks the whole map. Then I saw this the sniper much further away than his kill, I got him but it wasn't a head shot but must of been at least 700+ meters away.

I think the game should give you points based on distance if it's over say.. 400 meters. It only gives you points based on distance for head shots but any kill over 400 meters is a challenge.

The M98B has a drop that starts later and ends higher than the other long range snipers, due to the rounds it uses. So the adjustments for drops isn't as severe. Its what I used when I got my 970 headshot (and an 1100 that didn't friggin count on wake because the server dropped.) Its my go to long range rifle i'd say 8 out of 10 times.

Started the game update and activated my premium last night, before going out. I'm all up to date with the new patch and both expansions.

This game will likely feel very different to me, especially since I haven't played in over a week.

Yeah, the M98B also has faster bullet speed. Basically, it's a monster

After I got 500 Rex kills I am now back to using the M1911 (200ish kills on my other account with it) and OMG. I went on a 5 kill streak of using just that before I found ammo. I forgot how much I love it

Are the 360 users playing AK already? I've been out of the loop since thursday. I had my ACL n MCL surgery on thursday morning so I have not been online much.. I'll try to be online tonight if I'm feeling good and if my tv wasn't that far away from my bed lol.

Worked all day on 3 hours of sleep, after a night of drinking and still fighting this bug off... my fault, but I could pass up going out last night.

M1911 is a great handgun. I use it on every game that it is included on. The only two handguns I have used on BF3 is that and the M9.

One night I was playing with you guys and I actually switched to a different squad because we had an odd man out. BF3 360 is coming up! Lol

I'd play more on 360 myself. But I dont have ANY add ons and I dont want to interfere with you dudes that DO have them and want to play the newer maps from B2k to AK.

I just can not see myself coughing up another $50 to get premium. And whenever I do convince myself to go ahead and fork it over, I'm reminded that my 360 has the default hard drive. So I only have room on my system for the default game. If I wanted to play the add ons, I'd have to pay for premium AND pay the price of whatever a hard drive would cost me ($150 maybe?).

In fact the only reason I'm able to play it on 360 is because my little brother has it on 360 and I recently moved back home.

Hell...I only started playing BF3 to begin with because I had a client randomly buy it for me because he thought it was so great snd wanted me to play it. I never had any interest in nor played any FPS before I got BF3 from him. And now I'm freaking HOOKED!

LOL tell me about it , my lame hard drive is full and had to delete my Fallout 3 file just so that I can download the patch and AK maps. I don't mind playing the original maps at all, as long as we have some OSer's I don't care what maps we are playing. Sucks playing with randoms regardless of the map period. If you see us playing B2K or AK send me an invite and we will switch ain't nothiing wrong with that. The more OSer's we have the (funner) it is. Last time we had like 6 or 7 guys instead of the 2 or 3 guys that play lol.

So, to nuni and probably Koolie as well, my brother has been using my account this last week because I've been swamped with work. He asked me who "that nuni kid" was and I figured you might have had beacons or invites probably. Sorry about that, but I'm not as busy so if you see me on again, it should be me from now on, lol.
