At that age I would not have been interested in GTA but, I did start playing GTA3 around the age of 12 or so. Not saying its a appropriate for every kid that age(not the kid in the video) or any kid that age really but, there was already pretty violent things on tv at the time so this was no different. Only difference was I had control, I must of beat the III Era gta games at least 3 times a piece.

Makes me wonder how old some other OS'ers we're when they first picked that game up? We're you already grown, highschool, middle school? I know most if not ALL of my friends had this game espcially vice city and so on after the popularity of III's success.

I must've been about 7 or 8 when I first played GTA III. My brother and I got it when we finally upgraded from a PS1 to a PS2. Played every GTA game since, except that Chinatown one.

I was 10 when I started playing the GTAs. Granted, that was the original top-down GTA.

My mom didn't really care what I played but that's because my parent's actually took an active role in my life. If it was having any adverse affects they'd have seen it and pulled the plug on that **** quick fast and in a hurry.

Then again, my routine during little league was to get done with practice and go home on Wednesdays just in time to watch the new South Parks.

I'm 17 and when i was younger my mom wouldn't let me get any type of violent video games. It all started when i was really little playing a batman game on my dads sega and i began to hit little kids on the playground. Ever since then all of my games were sports games. All of my friends when I was 9 or 10 were playing GTASA and i got to play them when I went to their house. Mom never let me get GTA IV till i was 15 because she didn't think i could control myself. Now I've beaten all of the GTA's except 1 and 2(which i was doing waiting for 5) and i see why she never let me play them. All of my friends apart from a few always get in to some sort of trouble now. I can't help but think my mom was right in waiting for me to get GTA.

And to think it wasn't that long ago when we were counting down the months, weeks and days.

I've never even had a speeding ticket. Pretty good for a 23 yr old thats been driving since I was 17 or 18. I don't think playing gta will give a kid the urge to get go and get in trouble, not saying it can't. They we're probably going to get into trouble with or without a digital video game.

I'm pretty certain most parents don't believe their child will go out and recreate getting up on the side walk with a mini van and just start running people over. It's just the content of which the game holds is what they don't want their kid viewing at such a young age(I am no parent but have one on the way), but, I would think this is what most parents fear. I've seen parents blast GTA but, let thier child play Call Of Duty.

No difference besides the amount of foul language, a few unsightly scenes, and some HUGE moral standards lol. I garentee there isn't one GTA player that hasn't taken a hooker to a secluded area did your thing and got your money back...by blunt force!

Pack it has been a long wait...I remember when the pre orders first started rolling out of the gate, I was so pumped and then BOOM Rockstar delays the game. I pre ordered like the 2nd day but, recently bumped up to the collectors edition(ballin') lol. I figured I been waiting 3 years since IV which was to be expecred and the a extre 2 years after the game was finally announced, might as well go all out for this one.

Gonna be well worth that wait.

the virtual kind of violence in video games never really affected me, even as a kid. completely different with movies, i remember that some violent ones or also just thriller kind of movies gave me nightmares when i was little. in fact i find it hard not to look away during certain splatter and gore scenes even today that im in my mid 20s hell even certain injury replays in sports make me shudder, its nothing like that with video games. I think i would just never mistake what's happening in a video game with real life.

To be honest, I have no idea how anyone could be negatively affected by GTA games. Yeah, it's a lot of fun to drive around Miami listening to 80's music, kill a few drug lords and then drive back to your mansion which you obtained by killing the city's biggest dealer. Is it fun to jump out of a chopper, land on top of a building and shoot random people, then jump down and set cars on fire? ABSOLUTELY.

Would I ever think of doing anything like that in real life? Hell no, not in a million years. It's called being an intelligent human being, and no such being would ever think about replicating GTA in real life.

So yes, there will be idiots who maybe do things from GTA on the streets, but they would do the same idiotic thing even if there was no GTA.

That's my two cents on this.

I've never played FH, but the GTA 5 world is gigantic. Biggest world I can think of that I've seen in a game, off the top of my head (going by how far I've been around compared to map size I have yet undiscovered.)
