I really liked having different cities and all the small towns and stuff in between. It was the first game that really felt expansive to me.

Interesting, a GTA set in modern LA with gangsters, weed and celebrities leads me to think this will be a roided up glitz and glamor type game similar to Vice City but pumped up for extreme effect.

Maybe even have some shenanigans involving a Hollywood movie studio or something as well? In the game I mean.

Same here, I would love that "countryside" feel again but definitely in a much more expansive way. I remember articles saying things before like how the mountain would cast a shadow over the entire map as the sun goes down, which definitely wasn't the case (it wasn't even that big of a mountain, just kind of a thing that was there). It would be nice if they could find a way to really make that portion huge while still having two or three big cities. I'd love an L.A. and Las Vegas again, and hell give us San Diego while you're at it.

I didn't mean that I didn't like having such a massive game world like SA did (and the fact it was all on the PS2 was something amazing in itself), I just meant that they didn't get to focus and fully flesh out Los Santos like they did with GTA III, IV and Vice City since they just had 1 big city.

Plus the Los Santos section was always my favorite part of SA. The rest was pretty awesome as well, but I'd love to have an LA only GTA.

I can't imagine a GTA game that would combine GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption with the environments from both games. The cities and towns like GTA IV, but more west coast like SA, but also including forests and deserts that are as alive as RDR, maybe even with all the animals and ridable horses, eh.

I don't want the animals. I was scared off by the bears and cougars in RDR.

Yeah, running up on some bear was not fun.

I liked Las Venturas, then Los Santos, San Fierro. Though some of my favorite missions took place in Los Santos (anything with OG Loc )

You may run into a different kind of cougar in Los Santos.

Just remake San Andreas with Current Next Gen Graphics and I'm good with that.

Either way, definitely glad we got SOME news regarding it because I thought we wouldn't hear anything about this until like the end of the year and I'm hoping we can get a new GTA by the end of the next year at the earliest.

What they really need to do is put out one of those GTA HD collections with III, VC and SA and have it out before or just as the hype train starts running for GTA V.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I'd love to play back through GTA3 and Vice City. I liked San Andreas, but I was never able to beat it. I like the game, but hate having to work out, etc. I know some loved it, but I despised it.

I miss the entire atmosphere with GTA3, including the Mafia, Triads, and the Cartel... fun times.

I've been thinking about buying GTA3 for my laptop and using an xbox 360 controller to play it , since my PS3 isn't backwards compatible.

I completely agree. At the time it felt like true legitimate exploration. Wandering through the woods, mountain biking, swimming underwater, parachuting into Las Vegas. Graphically it's hard for me to go backward to GTA: SA but gameplay-wise I have to say I prefer it over IV simply because it seemed so much more could be done and widely discovered.

I'd like to see GTA go the cop angle. You could be some undercover cop in LC trying to stay righteous in a sea of cops on the take. Ofcourse you could participate or not in dirty deeds as the choice is up to you. This would change how people communicate with you in the game. See or hear about crimes on your police dispatch and choose to act or not. The story could center on the unsolved death of a family member from 10 years ago and your search to find justice. Killing or saving certain characters will determine whether you will ever be able to solve it.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.
