It's 2011, where's a proper FPS cover system? Treyarch even threw one into their Bond game they made in 2008.

The game also apparently lacks the ability to throw back grenades. Died a few times where I would have been fine tossing it away in CoD.

It's disappointing that the online doesn't work right so far, but this is becoming a common trend lately anyways.
Oh you haven't seen anything yet.

I'd say it's about a 6/6.5 overall. It was enjoyable at first but then the cheap deaths and awful vehichle level brought it down. The best part of the game was right after the worst part of the game so at least it didn't peak too soon. I had been expecting many more moments like that one.

Once they get the PS3 party working yeah.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

..and just like Battlefield, I'm getting stuck on teams that seem to have players just worrying about getting a kill streak rather than capping an objective. It's funny getting less than half as many kills as these guys, but having the most points out of anyone on the team. Too bad an effort of one or some is not enough against a team that actually plays correctly.

Finally got in a multiplayer ground control match and put my mic on. The only talking was people complaining about how they got killed. I'd really like to get in with a crowd that knows what this game is all about and not be so bitchy about kills etc. Annoying.

I'd gladly trade higher graphics for the insanity that this multiplayer offers. I got enough points for a tank but they inverted the controls and I was all gaffed up. The funny thing is I was getting attacked while in the tank and I just lost all sense of composure. Things exploding everywhere and at such a fast pace. War.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Yeah, you have to go into the control settings and invert vehicles. Ridiculous.

I agree, I was able to play a couple of games last night and it always seemed that I was stuck on the team that was trying to play TDM even though it was Ground Control. The good news is I actually like this game so far, it is refreshing and I have not had any problems with how I have been killed. I think another thing to look forward to is that, soon enough all of the COD fanboys will clear off of this game and we will be left with people who understand that this game takes a little strategy. I for one do not need 700,000 people online to have a good time, just give me some full rooms with people that understand the game and this will be a strong game for me.

This may be common knowledge, but I was reading about the remake of the movie Red Dawn, and I came across this little bit

Red Dawn" is not the only piece of entertainment to swap out Chinese villains for North Koreans recently. The video game "Homefront," which was released this week and features a script by John Milius, writer of the original "Red Dawn," was also originally intended to feature a Chinese invasion. For business reasons, publisher THQ changed the occupying forces to North Korea.
Without Beijing even uttering a critical word, MGM is changing the villains in its 'Red Dawn' remake from Chinese to North Korean. It's all about maintaining access to the Asian superpower's lucrative box office.

You can definitely tell this game's dialogue was written by a movie guy... Play the first level or so and you notice how cliche the script is. As if they talk too much and seem one dimensional. Almost like a made for tv action movie.

I like the game, but three releases lately really shed light on how we continue to get screwed in gaming. MLB 2K11, Fight Night Champion and now Homefront struggle with issues that freeze the game, don't allow proper online play and other issues that simply should be taken care of before release and the consumer puts $60 on it.

We need to take a look at the industry and start holding them accountable.

Does the game freeze during SP and/or MP?

Single Player doesn't freeze. The MP freezes I've had was an incident that happened twice in a about 5 minutes, after that no problems at all.
