    Re: Homefront (360/PS3)

Played two matches and hit the level 5 block... I need to buy the online unlock, but I'm not sure how much it costs since the store isn't updated yet.

Those who were frustrated by the challenging helicopter controls in Bad Company 2 will love this game... It's almost impossible to lose control since it quickly goes into hover mode when you put the sticks in neutral. Very arcade-like and easy to pick up on.

            First Impressions

Single Player got me a little pumped up. Great intro into the game, was really put together well. I only played the first chapter, but it was a blast. This seems like a type of game I will play over a few times, so the shortness really doesn't bother me as much. I hate to bring up CoD, but thats the easiest game to recognize. Comparing SP's from all the CoD's and this so far, this is better than all, except maybe CoD 2, which I thought had an awesome single player.

Online, wow! I've played all Ground Control so far and it is fun. Its constantly back and forth, I haven't really seen a dominant match yet. The Battle Points system is ingenious. I love how it works and is really something different from what we've gotten used to the past few years in other games. I love the hit detection as it is spot on and isn't as forgiving as CoD or BF. You have to aim perfectly on someone, you don't get any help when you're off a few inches. I also am having great connections. I have not seen any hints of lag and thats great for launch day.

Some other things I like are the guns. They all feel different and actually have recoil. Its nice to play and FPS game with recoil. You can really tell a difference in every single gun. Each has a personality all its own. It makes it easier and more fun to find that gun that works with your style instead of that one gun that constantly dominates *cough* ak74u *cough*. I really like the Scar as I prefer the accuracy of burs fire guns, but I have been killed plenty of times from ACRs and M16s.

The graphics are a lot better than I thought they would be. I kept hearing they were average and from the youtube videos they looked that way. But when the game actually was on my TV, they looked great. They aren't the best graphics out there, but I think they look really good and do there job. They look pretty realistic to me except some minor AA issues.

One last thing that is little, but makes me so happy is the scale of your guns and the detail of your guns. The guns have great detail form their barrels to their stocks. Everything about them looks great. And unlike most other FPS games, when you walk up to a wall, lamp, door, couch, etc. your gun looks big compared to it and like its part of the environment instead of looking puny. When you get up close to something like a lamp in CoD, your gun looks smaller than it which is ridiculous, but not this game.

So, I am enjoying this game. It blends in the good things form CoD and BF and then adds its own flavor. This game feels unique to me and I am very glad I bought it.

PS: The sounds is very good too on a surround sound system.

I just got it from Best Buy with a $20 RZ certificate, so if it's not great, I can flip it for around the same price on ebay probably. Sounds like it's being punished in reviews for not being called Call of Duty, as a short SP campaign never hurts the scores for those games.

Hopefully it'll be a nice change from CoD, as a bunch of my friends play that, but I hate it really.

What pushed me over the edge (aside from low willpower lol) was that it's like BC2 a bit. I much prefer that style of play over the twitchy COD gameplay.

I enjoy the strategy and this seems to require it more than the COD games. Plus the premise of the single player just intrigues me to no end.

If I rent the game can I buy a $10 pass which will give me full access? Then if I like it and buy the game it will just have another pass for that game disc?

So if I rent it I just have to pay an extra $10 and I will have the same options that if I buyed it?

How is this for a summary.

Mommy(CoD) and daddy(BC2) had a baby. It came out looking more like mommy, but was built like daddy, but really had its own unique personality.

                            Dear game devs.
Please stop putting vehicle levels in FPS'. YOU CAN'T DO THEM RIGHT so don't do them at all.

This one is the worst yet.

Maybe FPS games with vehicles aren't for you. I think they are great in this game. They add a new dimension to the game and I love it. This game and NC2 both implemented vehicles right. WaW though....
