Main thing the PC has going for it though is mods. Man I wish they somehow able consoles to have some form of moding.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Well I'm just saying, if I one has a choice, there's no way I'd choose getting this game on a console over the PC. Besides that, how long does a console generation usually last, 5-6 years? You can build a good PC that will last that long for almost the same price that these consoles launch at nowadays.
To each his own though, I'm not mad at anyone getting this for the 360 or PS3, it'll still be a great game. My point was that if you have a choice, don't let the little hiccups the PC game may have initially dissuade you from getting that version.Last edited by trobinson97; 06-17-2011, 06:33 PM.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
i went 360 and paid game off this weekend. To be honest i went console over my pc just for the simple fact i wanted to try it on 360. i have oblivion on PC and wanted to try it out on 360. Silly I know.....especially when I have a powerful PC sitting right next to the 360 but I enjoyed fallout 3 on 360 and the controller and just wanted to try Skyrim on 360 for same reasons.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
That's cool, but you know you could use a controller for fallout 3 PC, and will be able to for this game as well most likely.PS: You guys are great.

With that said, I still plan on building myself a new computer for this and Battlefield 3. I realized I've been out of PC gaming for too long.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I just don't see the depth of mods (I don't see them coming period to consoles), but in the event that they do allow user created content ala Little Big Planet or something, then that would be cool. But there's just a lot of things that would be a no fly on consoles, so I'm definitely happy with the PC version. I ended up buying a local PC on Craigslist, and updated the processor to an x6 1100t, and add in another videocard and I'm ready to roll.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Words cannot possibly describe how excited I am for this game. I'm a huge sports video game nut, but all the sports games in the world pale in comparison to the Elder Scrolls series. I cannot wait! I'm like a kid before Christmas. I must have watched the E3 footage ten times, and every time I do, I get more pumped.
This is the one game that I get super-hyped for and I know it will not disappoint. No possible way. And I don't even need to knock on wood after saying that. Novermber 11 can't get here soon enough.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Boooooo:
3) Is armor handled like in Oblivion (with each body part being welded together) or in Morrowind (with each body part separate)? Will you be able to wear both clothes and armor at the same time?
Matt: The armor system is very similar to Oblivion’s. The main difference is that the upper and lower body armors, the cuirass and greaves, have been combined into one piece. This helps create armor styles that have the look we needed for Skyrim. In most of the Nordic designs we created, the upper armor would completely cover the lower armor, making it unnecessary. We get much better visual results combining those pieces, and it renders a lot faster too, so we can put more people on screen, so that was an easy tradeoff for us. We can also make a lot more armors now, so the number and variation types are more than we’ve ever had.
21) Will crafting (weapons, armor) be effected by the tools you use as well as the ingredients used in the crafting? Such as the hammers and clippers, mastery level of the weapons and your level? Basically, will I be able to produce a more powerful, or even unique, weapon if I use a master hammer or clipper as opposed to novice?
Bruce: The blacksmith’s shop includes a forge, a grindstone, and a smithing bench. You can improve your weapons at the grindstone. The higher your skill, the more you can improve them, and the more damage they’ll do. Same thing for armor with the smithing bench, only the armor rating gets better. The forge is actually used to create new weapons and armor from raw materials.Last edited by WTF; 07-06-2011, 03:39 PM.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
That sucks they combined the chest and grieves. I liked mixing the different armor styles.
The trade-offs and the blacksmith shop sounds good, though so nothing really to fuss about. I will probably be blacksmithing for hours.
