    Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Amazingly I haven't posted in this thread yet.

Regarding the PS3, is there a way to have more than two characters?

I had an Imperial mage and a couple of manual saves to back it up, but they were overwritten when I decided to make a new character. Am I able to have two different characters at the same time?

I'm going to need to make a new character when all the DLC comes out. I can't imagine my kids having a cat for a father or having him turn into a wear wolf.

I have a couple on the 360, you should be able to have tons. The only file that gets overwritten when you start a new character is the first "prisoner" file when you first start the game. I usually run three saves to a character, and leave the "prisoner save" alone.

The only downside to the save system is that you have to create new saves for new characters, and not save over old characters. An easy way to tell is to save different characters at different cities.

I like JDoug's train of thought, but 10 minutes in and I just can't convince myself. That's why I made my Nord warrior, Vodlak Whitmane, lost brother of Kodlak.

Here's to hoping in the next Elder Scrolls they do like they did in Oblivion and make you an accessory to the Champion.

I retired the PS3 version going to sell it this week and bought the PC version off of the $29 sale over the weekend. I'm about 3.5 hours in now and boy does this run so much better, no more framerate dips while just going from mission to mission.

I installed the High Texture pack, seems to keep crashing my system. I tried a few things and wasn't working so I ended up grabbing a few modded ones off of Steam Workshop which work really well. I just love how much more alive the world of Skyrim looks on the PC vs. consoles.

Don't forget the ENBs and endless character creation mods.

Most ENB's give a unrealistic look to Skyrim and they are too demanding. SweetFX is the way to go with Skyrim.

Eye of the beholder. I don't play games to play in a drab world, I love bright, colorful and vivacious giving way to damp dark dungeons. That being said I enjoy rcrn.

I tend to agree with you. I use ENBs with most games (DX: HR, NBA, etc.); however, ENBs for Skyrim take away from the immersion of the times in my opinion.

Also, ENBs are very demanding and require a well optimized rig to run well.

ENB's need much more tweaking and the results are different in every game. That's why I prefer SweetFx. I have found a good preset, tweaked it a bit and I use it in every game.

Dragonborn and Dawnguard are going to be $20 and Hearthfire $5. Also, as previously stated, they'll all be 50% off the first week they're released.

So after taking an extended break from this game after dumping over 100 hours in at launch, i'm back in. Started up a one handed conjurer specializing in heavy armor, smithing, and enchanting.

Been having a BLAST so far. I've already had new quests and discovered new locations that I had never seen before. Amazing how vast this game truly is.

I've got my conjuration skill up to around 50, one handed around 40, smithing to 40, enchanting to 40ish, and heavy armor around 30. Having a lot of fun conjuring a flame atronach and using a conjured sword. I usually conjure the atronach and sword, then switch out the conjure atronach spell in my left hand with a dwarven axe to dual wield with my conjured sword. Definitely a fun build to play with.

yeah, I'm going to be starting up a new character as well, even though I haven't beaten the game with my first character yet(I believe I just started Act III). got to level 53 with that character and did beat dawnguard.

I started the playthough with no mods, and added in mod as I went. I probably have close to 30 or so mods now, mostly textures and lighting/weather, or other minor mods. was looking to possibly get SkyRe, but you can't really use it on an existing save, thus another reason for a new character.

not really sure what I'll go for this time. my last character kind of went in all directions. started off with heavy armor sword/shield. then started using bows and eventually switched to light armor. used a 2-handed weapon some, then started using magic and a bound sword. It helped me level up really fast for the amount of time played, but wasn't really specialized in anything.

Just out of curiosity, does the PC version w/ all the power of a PC, give way to a mod that increases the amount of people in the world so that when you enter a city there are more npcs walking around and more going on?
