    Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Well after playing this on the PS3 and selling it. I've decided to start back up on the PC. Anyone got any good mods that they think are a "must have"? And what are the best sites to search mods?

Skyrim Nexus is the only site you need for mods.

Sign in Skyrim Nexus and pick the top 20 for a start.

Skyrim Realistic Overhaul 1.6 (Full 2k version w/ Dawnguard updates)

By far the best texture overhaul for the game in my opinion. Keeps the natural Skyrim feel w/o being too vibrant and virtually no FPS hit on my 7870, even in Whiterun.

              Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I'll say a few "must-haves" mods for PC gamers, regardless if you have a great PC or mediocre one.

              SkyUI - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3863
IMO, a must have for PC users. changes the menus in the game to be more PC friendly. It'll require SKSE(skyrim script extender), which the link for it is on the mod page.

              Categorized Favorites Menu - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4862
changes the favorites menu to be more PC friendly. customizable too if you feel like getting into it.

              Better Dialogue Controls - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27371
fixes the issue that some may have when in dialogue with NPCs and using keyboard+mouse to navigate the dialogue options.

other not so "must-have" but I would recommend.

Run For Your Lives - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23906
will make NPCs run into their house or safe zone when a dragon attacks a village. guards, members of the companions, or any "fighter" type NPCs will still attack dragons. It'll prevent store owners from dying out on you because of dragon attacks.

              When Vampires Attack - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28235
same as above but with vampires.

              Deadly Dragons - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3829
usually dragons get really easy to kill in the late game. this mod makes dragons actually a challenge. it's configurable as well, if you have the newest version of SkyUI, you can configure it right in the game from the pause menu.

you could also try out the unofficial patches that are on nexus as well. they have multiple fixes that haven't been patched yet. there is a "mod" for each DLC of skyrim(base game, Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn, and even the official HD texture pack). I would read up on it before installing them though.

I think that'll be all I'll list. I have many more mods, but most are texture-base mods, and I wanted to keep the list more universal and not so "you need a great PC to run it" thing. there are many texture and lighting mods that'll make the game look really great though.

                Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I still suggest exploring. There's some really great stuff not on the Nexus but it's rather discouraged to share.

Is there a way to get the DLC on Xbox without an internet connection? Does Best Buy or Gamestop sell hard copies? My Xbox doesn't have wifi and my router is on another level of the house.

Unless they eventually make a copy of the game with the DLC included I don't think so.

if they do, make sure to read the box. sometimes it's just a box that has a card in it with a code to redeem so you can download it.

I don't think there's a complete edition out yet, so I think you're out of luck.

It would require quite a bit of work. I was willing to pay a premium to avoid that work .

It is what it is. Thanks for the help fellas.

Powerline adapters is what you need my friend. I use them (same ones linked) and they work wonders compared to wireless.
