It was a different author? That blows. The first 3 are really good. Worth a read.

I like the update to the multiplayer. A little tougher than before but better balance overall. I liked the additions to each enemy class. The little bomber thing they added to the Geth really has changed the way you fight those guy.
I also liked how the fixed the camping/exploit spots at Firebase White and Glacier. Makes those maps playable.
      Well done overall.

Yep the first three are amazing and I was excited for the 4th until different author was announced and then the reviews came. They were suppose to revise it but looks like they never did.

Read Revelation, Ascension, and lastly Retribution. Great books and without question increased my enjoyment of third game.

I like that they tried to address the issues you mentioned (FBW/G camping), but I feel like the changes were made with the sole purpose of forcing you to use more consumables to survive, or drop down a level and severely reduce your time:earnings ratio...

I used to be able to make it through Gold with any semi-competent team using 1-2 Medigels and 1-2 rockets max, and now I need to go in loaded for bear with ammo buffs, armor buffs, gear, and use up all my medigels and rockets every time just to barely survive...that's all fine, but I feel like if they're going to increase the difficulty (and cheap-ness...I mean, the Scion can launch a veritable minefield of grenades right on your head from halfway across the map, with no limit....that's not challenging, it's just cheap), they should increase the rewards as well. The whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth, because it's clearly designed to force you to use up all your stuff so you buy more from the incredibly crappy store system...

TL/DR: they're turning the multi-player into Farmville. I've all but stopped playing at this point...

I get what you are saying in some ways. I have had to use more consumables to beat Gold but let's face the fact Gold was way to easy after you had played the game for awhile. ME3 does give you way more in game points to buy packs than any multiplayer game I can think of .
For me, like most here I think, bought ME for the fantastic SP. The fact they added a pretty good MP with all these ongoing improvements has impressed me. If ME was like COD or BF3 where the SP was just an afterthought to the MP I'm sure I would feel different but as a "bonus feature" ME MP is hard to beat IMO.

Yeah, for sure...I bought it for the sole purpose of finishing the story arc, and when I found the multiplayer was surprisingly fun, I was pretty pleased. Also, you have to give them credit for continuing to support it, although obviously it's because they want to keep people playing as long as they can so that they can keep getting income from the store...but hey, sometimes the company's and player's interests are aligned, in which case everyone wins.

Agree that the credits they give you are fair, and better than most multiplayer. My only problem is the stupid store (which, since it takes real money, I wonder if it's legal??? Kinda verges on gambling IMO....), which makes most of your credits worthless because you keep getting stupid crap you don't want and can't use your credits to buy whatever you want...or even, buy something in the neighborhood of what you want (i.e. have a "weapons only" pack or a "gear only" pack or "characters only", etc)....I don't need a 15th human vanguard card when I don't have a Harrier, Vorcha, or Batarian yet despite 50+ premium spectre packs. It's irritating to watch 2+ hours of gameplay to buy a few spectre packs and get literally nothing you want.

But in the end, you're totally right: it's a nice add-on and pleasant surprise to what is essentially a single-player game. Just b*tching and moaning from me, really...

I was playing MP last night. Gold was a bitch, I think the furthest we got was wave8, and I died a few times earlier than that.

I noticed w/ my Turian soldier that after each wave I finished I progressed an achievement, only I later found out it wasn't an achievement it was a challenge.

Still....the MP co-op is fun.... wish they added more achievements to it.

                  Eurogamer: Omega DLC Preview

Sure, Shepard is the main man/woman, but fans will be most interested in the two new party members you get to control.

Aria is a powerful biotic - one of the most powerful, BioWare Montreal producer Fabrice Condominas tells Eurogamer. And her abilities, created specifically for her use, reflect that power. Flare is “probably one of the most powerful” biotic explosive attacks in the game and is great for clearing groups of enemies. Lash sends a biotic lash out onto the battlefield, attracting enemies to her and doing heavy damage. Lash is particularly useful against shielded enemies - a single attack can drop a shields in an instant. So powerful is Aria that BioWare had to rebalance the combat gameplay to cope.

But it is the second new party member that will attract the most attention. Her name is Nyreen Kandros, the turian leader of the Talon mercenary group and the first female turian to be seen in the Mass Effect video games.

Nyreen is ex-turian military, but, despite this, she is a biotic (turian military hierarchy prohibits biotic powers). Her powers aren't as devastating as Aria's, but she's still useful in combat. Her Biotic Grenade ability does exactly what it says on the tin, and Biotic Protector raises a magic shield, useful for keeping her alive when the chips are down.
Your first thought upon hearing about Nyreen might have been, 'I can't wait to see what Garrus makes of her.' But, unfortunately, you can't find out. That's because when you venture out to Omega you leave all your party members - and the Normandy - behind.

All this is explained by the story, Condominas says. What you get for your 1200 MS Points or £10 is roughly four hours of gameplay.
Within Omega, though, is plenty to do. There's a central hub, Aria's bunker, which you use to upgrade her drug smuggling operation. From here you trigger side mission as you do in the main game. Outside the hub are four main missions, each lasting about an hour, that take players all over the station. “There's an exploration aspect of Omega that's really important,” Condominas says. “Of course you will revisit the places you know, such as the Gozo District and Afterlife, but 80 per cent of the places you've never seen before.”
                  ...

                    AW HELL YEAH!

I mean...I find this enjoyable and meets my standards.

Looks like I can finally go into battle with the all-female biotic warrior teams I thought I'd be able to do when I thought Jack would be a squad member.

No, because after you beat it, you go right back to pre-Cerberus base.
