Question for those that beat the game. Are people freaking out for no reason about the ending and the game engine having some hiccups?

I'll say this, the ending doesn't live up to the awesomeness of the over all game. The entire game was on level 10 of awesomeness, the last 2 minutes of the game and the ending was on level 1 of average. Really doesn't fit IMO, almost like they ran out of time.

Don't really see how it 16 different endings...I seen 2 of the endings and they looked damn near identical.

Unfortunately no, it isn't possible to get all 16. The most you can probably get is 8 of them, plus the bonus one.

Am i correct that the illusive man choice (control the reapers) is the paragon and the Anderson choice (destroy the reapers) is renegade? That is a pretty cool way to do it

Also, i only got those two endings and didnt see Joker or EDI or anyone else from the crew step out of the Normandy. In my endings the Normandy opened but it cut to credits before anyone stepped out. (i had 65 percent galactic readiness)

What do you have to do to get 3 endings? and do you have to have 100 percent galactic readiness to get the 4th ending where Shepard survives? I dont want him to survive. I think the way he martyred himself to stop the cycle is the perfect end to the trilogy. Im just curious what you have to do to get that 4th ending.

Your spoiler tags weren't done right, I can see the entire paragraph, but anyway yeah how high or low your galactic readiness and what you did in Mass Effect 2 determines what kind of ending you get. Apparently with 100% you get the best ending.

Apparently you get that same additional bit if you're using an imported character from ME 2.

There's 8457.
75 can only be obtained in multiplayer.
It's not possible to get all remaining 8382. For example you can get more Krogan and less Salarian or less Krogan and more Salarian,there's no way to max both. Apparently with all the highest values added up the most you can get is around 7800. And that's on the 360,PS3ers are even more up the river but at least their multiplayer is free. So as I was saying...Bioware are filthy lying scum.

As for the hallucination theory, I don't think that the whole thing was a hallucination but the kid was either a figment of Shepard's imagination or just a projection that whatever was up there chose to present itself as. It's also possible that he got plugged into something like with the geth mission and that was why he saw the kid. I think the people assuming that the kid was actually a part of the Reapers or part of the group who made them are taking that part too literal.

I agree that the kid is just a projection. If humanity is a new race there is no way the kid is the creator of the reapers. Had it been Garrus or Liara up there it would have likely projected itself as a turian or asari. It does lend to the indoctrination angle though that Shepard is constantly seeing this kid in his dreams and leaving Earth and then he turns out to be the Catalyst. Something had to have imprinted that into his mind for him to keep seeing it.

The more and more I think about it, I'm seriously beginning to believe that Shepard was indoctrinated. It's the only way the current ending in my head can make sense.

I think the indoctrination theory is a great theory, but after watching the ending and playing through the end scene again, I just have a hard time believing Bioware intended this to be anything but the actual ending.

I'd be happy if they had something "big" to unveil, but it just feels like a hail mary to me from fans in disbelief with the ending (myself included).

The thing that gets me though is the Shepard "breathing" ending. No way he lives through a fall to Earth, the citadel/crucible/catalyst were exploding and there's no sound aside from wind, creaking "metal", and his gasp.

Waiting anxiously to hear something from Bioware. There are plenty of sticking points to the indoctrination theory, but I just have a hard time believing that ending isn't what it's intended to be at face value.

If Shepard was indoctrinated, then I don't think (s)he ever left Earth. The rubble you see Shepard under looks like concrete and rebar. So it's quite possible Shepard never made it to be beam to begin with. It could be that the whole Citadel sequence was Harbinger trying to get Shepard to surrender in her/his own mind. Kinda similar to this sequence in another Bioware game.
