Re: Mass Effect 3
MP has no business in genres outside of sports and FPS. Those are the only 2 genres that should have MP. And furthermore, no MP in ANY genre should have an effect on the single player mode of the game. This IMO is where Bioware really pissed people off in Mass Effect 3.

You can do ALL the side missions and not get your EMS to 4000, hell you won't even break 3,000.
HOWEVER
You can not do ANY side missions but play the hell out of MP and get your EMS beyond 4,000.
That is BS.
But I agree. MP should never impact single player to this extent. luckily I was on PC version which can be edited.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
For those of you playing with good sound systems...
What do you have "Dynamic Range" set to? Right now I have mine on LOW because I find the dialogue to be weak on HIGH. The downside is that all other sound-effects don't have much "oomph" and my subwoofer is hardly getting any work. As mentioned, HIGH drowns out voices but I actually feel like it's making full use of my speakers. The only other negative is that it gets extremely loud for some reason when using Mass Relays - not good for my late night sessions.
Also, I just finished up on Rannoch...Spoilerand damn were those missions good! I really liked the level design of the Geth consciousness and just how different it was from everything else in the game (from what I've seen so far). Learning more about the history between the Geth and Quarians made me feel bad about the Geth and their struggle for acceptance.
Now, the Reaper base made me feel like an action-hero. One on one with a Reaper? **** yeah! Though it did get tedious running from side-to-side but the whole sequence of events made up for it.
I actually thought I was gonna have to choose between destroying the Geth or the Quarians but good thing I had a lot of Paragon (and almost maxed out reputation) and managed to save both races. Of course, another ME2 pal had to bite the dust and losing Legion was heart-wrenching. Him referring to himself as "I" and asking if he had a soul was very powerful, emotional and provoked good thoughts on existentialism. I'll miss him calling me "Shepard Commander." Still, Mordin's sacrifice is still #1 for me up to this point in the game.Comment

From what I heard it is possible to get 4,000 Readiness if you make all the "right" decisions in ME1-ME3. Like havingSpoilerRachni Queen live, Kelly Chambers live, Purchasing the new stuff in NG+, Getting the reporter on your ship and not punching the reporter in the face.

Someone was talking about how reviewers didn't mention the ending, here's an interesting viewpoint on reviews themselves (pertaining to Mass Effect 3 and Gears 3)

Re: Mass Effect 3
I don't remember the last time I actually read a review and had it sway me from what I was going to do anyway.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Seriously this is an amazing game for 99 percent of the time. Everything leading up to the end is emotionally powerful and throughout the whole game you get a sense of impending doom with everything going against you. By the end I am feeling as emotionally drained as your Shepard appears to be in the game.
For those that haven't got the game or are afraid to play it because of the ending your are missing out on one of my favorite games ever.
About the ending
SpoilerWhile the way it ended was a bit out of nowhere I am not as pissed off about it as most. In fact the whole time I was playing the game I couldn't help but think I would love an ending where it was all for nothing and despite my best efforts the reapers would end up winning. Of course the ending I got was different than the reapers winning. I don't get the whole "my decisions made no difference" thought of people. Your decisions had a huge impact throughout the game. I am tired of video games having "perfect" happy endings where the hero survives and everyone goes on. I like this one taking a chance on something different. The delivery of this different ending was terrible, but I like their effort.
As far as multiplayer is concerned I don't mind it in this game because like I said before the game is amazing for 99 percent of it. I have a hard time believing anything would be different about single player or that the game would have been "better" if MP was taken out. Yes the galactic readiness wouldn't be in it, but other than that the SP IMO is as good if not better than the first two up until the very end.NHL: Vegas Golden Knights
