Now I agree that this is Bioware's story to tell but they did sell the series with the promise that

I am not going to sign a petition. I am simply going to walk away. For the most part I enjoyed the series and that's that. Now on to finish Tales of Graces, Skyrim and Amalur

BioWare needs to be very careful about how they address this. They chose to do so and want to keep their creative integrity, but if they charge for some semblance of closure after that ending and the day 1 "From Ashes DLC", it's only going to further upset people.

I think they bit off more than they can chew. Your Shepard and choices carrying over from game to game was probably a bigger burden on them than they'll ever admit. Trying to close it all out and please longtime fans, new players, the Action/Story/RPG settings, and multiplayer in a 18 month dev cycle. A project like this should have been 3 years, but that's probably not going to happen under EA's watch.

It's a video game, no one complained about artistic integrity when Bethesda changed the Fallout 3 ending to allow you to continue playing or have the Mutant enter the chamber full of toxic for you.

Plain and simple Bioware once again dropped the ball and lied to the fanbase outright. After claiming multiple times they wouldn't do an A B or C ending and would make your choices through 3 games matter. They indeed went ahead and did an A B or C ending and invalidated every choice you made over 3 games.

Movies change all the time due to test screenings, books change all the time when a publisher asks for rewritten draft changes. This has nothing at all to do with artistic integrity.

Someone I know made an argument that the DLC was made after the game was finished but before it was launched. There is this time of a few weeks in between those two events that gives design staff and stuff time. Oftentimes they are moved over to a different project, but in this case he said that they probably worked on the Javik DLC, thus having it available for launch day. Personally, I'd rather have it on launch day than a couple of months down the road, like Pinnacle Station or Lair of the Shadow Broker, when I'm done with the game. Finally, I'm guessing the Zaeed DLC was done the same way, except that was free if you bought the game, which I thought was a good way to get people to buy firsthand and IMO Javik DLC should have been done the same way.

I didn't buy it anyways, because it didn't make much sense to me that there would be a Prothean still stasis, when in ME1 the VI said that they were all killed (I'm also cheap). On top of it, the only DLC I have is the Cerberus Network stuff, Bring Down the Sky (came with the PC version of ME1) and Kasumi.

Maybe in a year they'll release the trilogy with all the DLC included for 60$ or something (I dunno, Bethesda did that with Fallout 3).

The VI said that all of the Protheans on Ilos were dead, not every single Prothean.

That's the most frustrating part for me. I wanted my prior actions to ultimately matter in the end and they didn't.

Well I finished it today. What a fantastic game it is.

So as far as the ending. It was a let down in the grand scheme. I am not outraged or anything of a sort. But it was not what I expected. But then again I did not know what to expect. One thing is all your choices played a decent impact throughout the games (ME2/ME3 I did not play ME) except....it had little impact on the ending of ME3. The finale was not awful, but it also was not a OMG kinda thing. Actually it was anti-climatic and had holes.

I will go back and try out the other options for the ending.

But overall the game was amazing and ME2/3 will warrant another play through easily.

Now I need to finish Batman AC (finally!)

Regarding the quarian and geth..

Did anyone not allow Legion to make the upload ? I couldn't help myself. I had to allow it, because I was all ready bitter with the Quarians and I've never been too crazy about them. I guess I'm a little cold blooded.

I let him upload it, then made the quarians stop their attack on the geth. now they are reunited and the geth are helping them rebuild their homeworld.

well, except the ones that went to Earth and are now stranded in the Sol System. Likely be Multiple generations before they can return to the homeworld, if at all.

I was never even given the option to speak to any of them. Is it possible I don't have enough paragon actions throughout the game, to give me that option ?

you get "points" for certain actions during ME 1/2/3 with actions between Geth and Quarians. I don't know the specifics off-hand, but say you chose to destroy the geth in ME2 during Legions Loyalty mission, you get a bonus towards peace between them. if you chose to rewrite them, it was a negative toward peace. if you saved the Quarian Admiral in ME3, you get points for possible peace. doing the geth fighter base mission gives you points, etc...
