be warned: auto saves do not happen as often as you think. make sure to manually save as well.

Yeah I just found that out the hard way. And you always want to "prepare" before battle or you will get crushed.

This game is gonna be one good ride from what I have played thus far. Have not had any hiccups at all thus far

So I have the PC version but haven't started it...should I buy a gamepad or is mouse/keyboard OK?

I had no problem using mouse and keyboard.

Wow... took me like 3 hours just to get through the prologue. Of course, I did spend literally like an hour in that village with the baricades trying to figure out how to 'Find another way into the alley', before I finally cheated and looked it up.

Lots and lots of cutscenes, but they were good. Hopefully there's a bit more gameplay now that I have started Chapter 1.

The 360 players are in for a treat I'm glad that you guys get to play this. I'm really impressed at how pretty the game looks on the 360.

Being a huge rpg fan, this game is heaven for me.

A challenging and tactical rpg is what I have been longing for.

This is a man's RPG.

God I have put so much time into this and have only gotten to the first main town you get to. I think its called Flotsam or something. Its like a swamp or something. So much to this game, I always have way to much stuff and go over my weight. Also in case some of you didnt know it but you can store stuff at the inn.

What do you do (besides die) when you get swarmed by monsters. I am in a Flotsam side quest where I constantly get swarmed. Even if I try and draw them out one by one they just leave and wait for me to try and advance. I tried running past the group, but they still pop out of the ground and swarm me.

What do you do (besides die) when you get swarmed by monsters. I am in a Flotsam side quest where I constantly get swarmed. Even if I try and draw them out one by one they just leave and wait for me to try and advance. I tried running past the group, but they still pop out of the ground and swarm me.

You have to make sure that you prepare before battle. Drink potions and use your defensive shield power (forget the name),try using the power that turns foes against one another. Make sure also that you are using the Silver Sword and not the regluar sword when fighting monsters (found myself doing that in the 1st alot).

Set traps and throw bombs and do alot of rolling to avoid getting hit. Last but not least..... Lower the playing level if you must.

Combat at low levels will be a little difficult. You must use your powers, shield (Quen I think), and do tons and tons of dodging. I love the difficulty, especially on the PC version where I believe it was even more difficult. Wait till you get to Lethos....ugh. That sucked.

Installed the game on my PC today but I keep getting a corrupted file message when I try and download the EE patch. Looks like I won't be starting the game today!

Also try to get a 3 stay knowledge level of the enemy. It seemed like I was getting my arse kicked by enemies but the more my knowledge level went up about them it seemed that I would do more damage and receive less in battle. Im not sure if that is what it exactly does but I feel it does.

There was a slight issue with a corrupt file in the EE patch installer.

Installed the game on my PC today but I keep getting a corrupted file message when I try and download the EE patch. Looks like I won't be starting the game today!

If you've got it on anything but Steam download part 2 from here: http://en.thewitcher.com/ee_manual and replace it in whatever folder you've downloaded to before trying to install.

If you did get it on Steam or anywhere but gog.com you can input your key there and get a DRMless back up copy for free. I believe that means you can also get all the extras it comes with on there.
