I got Infamous as part of the welcome back thing and I really don't understand where all the hype came from. The story is stupid, the graphics are not good at all, the voice acting is horrible, the characters have no redeemable qualities, the "moral choices" are so binary that it's laughable, and the animations are really bad. Maybe the trailers for the second one just look really good but I don't get why anyone would've wanted a sequel to that game in the first place.

I agree with this. I mean, I don't think it's a bad game at all but after hearing so much about this game for so long, it was kind of a let down. Granted, I just started playing as I picked it up from the Welcome Back program. So maybe it will get better.

GTA IV comes to mind. I'm on the fence about RDR though. I didn't think anything about the actual gameplay was awesome. Just normal Rockstar stuff. I loved the story though. The ending is one of my favorite in recent memory.

I guess it's the same way I feel about Crysis... I LOVED the first inFamous, played through it multiple times, and have already beat the second and am getting ready to go through it again. All the stuff you don't like (story, graphics, etc), are they things I really enjoy about it, plus I just love the gameplay itself and the powers Cole has.

Lol... I like reading through this thread. It's funny seeing how differently people feel about certain games.

I know game length is a big deal to a lot of gamers and I get that, but I'm the opposite. Games can definitely be too long and GTA IV was one of those. There is only so much a guy can take and 85+ missions was too much for me. I hit 50, then muscled my way into the low 60s before finally hitting a brick wall.

I bought the full GTA IV experience (main game and both of the major DLC stories). My thinking at the time was "It's winter, I'm snowed in for five months, so I'm just going to sink into this enormous GTA universe". Looking back, I really wish I would have just bought the DLCs because I think their story/mission length would have been perfect for me. As it stands now, I can't see anyway I'd ever try either DLC because the main game just killed me. This makes me sad because I think I would have actually enjoyed the 20+ mission length of "The Lost & Damned" because I would have gotten to the finish line and the experience wouldn't have felt like an endurance test.

Even though I initially started out enjoying it, Crysis 2 has vaulted to the top of my list. Waaaayyyyy overrated IMO. It all came down to travel to next open area, beat bad guys, travel to next open area, beat bad guys, travel to open area, ....... Not to mention, the gameplay wasn't anything revolutionary, and I can name plenty of games that looked better.

And I swear, if I had to hear the suit say "Cloak engaged" one more time... good Lord. I don't know who's stupid idea that was, but dude, I KNOW the cloak's engaged, I'm invisible now!

Sigh... end of rant, and I get why people enjoy the game, but it's just not for me.

Couldn't agree with you more. I got this game on Tuesday and I'm returning it tonight. The multiplayer is horrible. I between "Cloak Engaged" and the awful sound it makes when someone kills you, I've had enough. The SP was okay, but as you said, nothing we haven't seen. Very overrated IMO.

Interesting to see so much Rockstar negativity but I can understand why people can get tired of the open world game. I disagree and think GTAIV is one of the best titles on the consoles. RDR is right up there with it. LA Noire is overrated in my opinion. People went ape **** over it and I admit at first I did too.

And Infamous 1 was a fantastic game. Great story, fine voice acting, and the graphics where great. Game play was also very crisp and fluid.

I agree with this. I mean, I don't think it's a bad game at all but after hearing so much about this game for so long, it was kind of a let down. Granted, I just started playing as I picked it up from the Welcome Back program. So maybe it will get better.

I'm with these two. Maybe it has to do with waiting so long to play it. Not bad, but it doesn't really seem all that stellar. Also I hate how it feels when you run with him, but that's me.

Im with you. As much as i like the MGS series, the last one was pretty boring. When you actually played the game it was good but overall it is overrated.

Most PS3 exclusives. I didn't like God of War 3, or any of the Resistance games. Although the puzzles and climbing parts were cool, I didn't really enjoy Uncharted 1 or 2, due to the shooting, and I also didn't enjoy inFamous, which imo is the most overrated one out of them all. I don't see how it got such high ratings.

The only exclusive I have thoroughly enjoyed so far is MLB 10 the Show. One of the greatest sports games ever and has made me begin to like baseball.

Yup, I played all of those except the Resistance games and I never got the hype. Uncharted 2 was the only one I understood why people were so excited for it, even though I don't think it's as great as so many people think it is.
