GTA4....the exact same game as GTA3, with better graphics. What was novel 10 years ago is now tedious, and even running down pedestrians and beating-up random passers-by is no longer the novelty thrill it was then. They've done nothing to the basic core of this game, and it's starting to show...granted, I'm only 1/3 of the way through it, but I am having a hard time forcing myself to continue to grind: drive all the way across town to the letter on the map, cut scene, get mission, drive way the hell across town to some other location, kill guy/steal car, drive back....the structure isn't similar to GTA3, it's identical. That this game got a "10" from IGN makes me very suspicious of the rest of their evaluations.

The first Assassin's Creed was tedious as hell IMO. I can't believe that game had so many people excited for AC2.

Metal Gear Solid was okay, but nothing mind blowing.

I am willing to fight anyone who said Uncharted.

The ending to AC was what sucked me in, up until that point I was definitely ready to shelve it.

It's the exploration. That's why I like it quite a bit on PC and hated it on the PS3. Doesn't look like crap/a giant garbage dump anymore.

Guess I can add Black Ops to my list here.

Operation Flashpoint - Dragon Rising - expectations were for it to be more like the original OPF

Fallout 3. I still don't understand the people who rave about the graphics in that game... Oblivion was acceptable, but releasing Fallout 3 two, three years later with the same awful facial models? Gross. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't the GOTY everyone made it out to be.

Dead Rising 2. Didn't hook me in like I thought it would. Wish the setting and gameplay was a serious as the story would lend you to believe.

What I find rather odd is that out of all of the people who have said they disliked Red Dead Redemption on here, all but one of them haven't even completed 10% of the game as per their achievements. Perhaps most of you guys never gave it a fair chance?

I heard it a few times when it first came out.. Moreso talking about the environments than the character models, I suppose.

Anyway, I realize the GOTY appeal had more to do with the gameplay, but even there, Fallout was pretty much Oblivion with guns. A lot of fun, but not really anything new. Granted, the gameplay probably was new to most people who played it.

It depends I guess. I have Oblivion and did have Fallout 3. I liked both games, but I did enjoy Fallout a lot more even if it was "recycled". I sold it for Bad Company 2 though and regret that. I love BC2 and will never sell it, but I wish I never had sold FO3.
