This game looks to be the perfect mix of Call of Duty 4 and the best of Modern Warfare 2. People who bash this game because it's "MW2.5" should just stop.

Consider MW2 as MW3's beta.

This won't remotely be like CoD4. The killstreaks and perks will make sure of that. Hope I'm wrong as CoD4 is the best in the series for me but IW/Sledgehammer have for some reason tried to distance themselves from everything CoD4 related ever since MW2 dropped.

Anyone else find it odd that we're less than two weeks away from release, and still no official cover art? Not that it's a big deal, just seems strange.

Killstreaks are way different, sure (I personally like killstreaks, though - they're fun to use). But perks? I personally feel the perks in MW3 look more balanced and fair than any game, especially CoD4. Remember, that's the game where seemingly everyone was pooping out magic grenades when they died. That's gone. And now Last Stand is gone as well. For me, getting rid of Last Stand as a perk is worth the price of purchase by itself. I hate that perk.

Just pre-ordered from amazon with release date delivery. Will i get it on the 8th like they say i should. Anybody have experience with that? Either way I'm pumped for this game. Skipping Elite for now but will probably get it once map packs start rolling around.

You should get it. Amazon is pretty good with their release date deliveries. A few people on OS have had problems in the past but I have been using release date delivery for all my preorders and it hasn't failed me yet. If you don't get in time, you can always email Amazon and demand some sort of credit on your next purchase and they will be more than accommodating.

I also hate Last Stand but I like reviving people. (I know I'm just encouraging people to continue using it by reviving them.) But I hate getting killed by someone in Last Stand so overall I'm glad it's out.

When I said Call of Duty 4 I mean't the gun play. Recoil, idle sway, damage, maps, etc. Bowling has even said in tweets over the last few months that they're bringing a Call of Duty 4 feel back to the game with far less killstreak gameplay and more gun on gun gameplay.

I know I am in the extreme minority but I enjoy not shooting a gun and being successful. I think thatss why I loved MW2.

EDIT: btw, when I say, in the series, I mean CoD4 through Black Ops. I never played 1-3, and haven't played MW3 yet, so I couldn't say anything about the maps on any of those titles.

You're the kind of player that I hated to play. No offence intended, but people that need to use other means to kill me then bullets just piss me off.

I disagree with that. I loved the simplicity of Call of Duty 4 and I think that the maps were superior because they were simpler. All of the maps in Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2 were either bad or okay, none of them were really great like some Call of Duty 4 maps like Shipment, Backlot, or Strike.

World at War had the best maps though, those maps were GREAT. World at War was also the only Call of Duty to have decent map packs. Every other DLC map, whether it be zombies or multiplayer, has been terrible besides a couple like Ascension from Zombies in Black Ops.

Weapon Progression sounds good, I love unlocking things and using different weapons so that's another whole set of things I can unlock. I hope it's not overdone though, like the quicker melee for SMG's.
