Yea, just quick impressions.
This game still seems to be plagued by the same issues that MW2 had. Horrible spawning (FFA more specifically), bad hit detection, where a guy can be spraying 4 feet to the left of you and somehow you're getting hit, server time outs etc.
Also, I don't know if it just me, and maybe it's because it's a new experience, but the maps seem generic to me. Maybe I haven't played enough to really gain a feel for each map, but just for the first 4-5 hours I played, I didn't feel like there was much that distinguished one map for the other. All had a longer open area near the center, and then alot of close quarters in buildings on the edges. Seems like each map in MW2 had it's own unique characteristics.Comment

@Dominick I have seen one instance of it, but it does not seem to be a huge factor like it was in MW2. It may be further down the line, but right now it's no big deal to me.Originally posted by J. Re: Modern Warfare 3 PS3/360
I love this game so far. About what I expected, nothing groundbreaking but a smooth FPS game that is easy to pick up and play, with plenty of customization. The weapons seem much stronger so far which I think is a good thing. I think they found a good balance. Not as strong as hardcore mode, but I'm not emptying a whole clip into enemies anymore.
I encountered some lag, but it only lasted for a few seconds in a couple matches, other then that the game is smooth. I had a couple server timeouts, but 90% of my matches I was able to complete with no problem, I would say that is great for release day.
I love how you are rewarded with killstreaks for capturing flags in Domination, can anyone confirm if it is the same for other objective games? Kill confirmed is a nice addition. I encountered some bad spawning on Free For All which is typical for COD, but other then that spawning has been good.
I'm surprised how well I did today. In past COD's I was horrible at the start until I learned the maps and found my groove but today my aim was great and I finished with a decent or good score in most of my matches.Last edited by Buckeyes_Doc; 11-08-2011, 10:48 PM.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Here's my review:
+ single payer- it's actually really great. Yes its short but they do wrap things up nicely. Yes I have beaten it.
+ kill confirmed- nice to play a match and not worry about the whole enemy team camping in a building.
+ Smoothness- runs really well and some of the lighting effects are actually suprisingly pretty good.
+ Noob Tubes- actually get killed by them and not find them cheap because of the area you have to hit them in.
- Lag issues - ran into rubber banding and hit detection problems sometimes.
- Quickscoping - all I can say is wow. It can get pretty annoying but I don't run into it to much.
- MAPS! - I absolutely hate the cluster **** of random paths in a rust like area of play. Only a couple of maps a like, I hope the map packs are better. example is Hard hat, I hate that map.

Re: Modern Warfare 3 PS3/360
I rented the game earlier today as i don't usually play these games for the online part of it as i prefer sports games online. If i have beaten the single campaign could i pick up the online part and at least have enough fun and not hold my team mates back as i would get smashed on? Just trying to figure out how long to rent the game for overall. Might try some multi later tonight.PSN:LeftCoastGamer
