Man, I'm at the most nerve racking part of the game for me, thus far:

Just been separated from Ellie after I fell down the elevator shaft. Down here sloshing around in this water. Scared to dive. Scared to shine my light anywhere. Scared of every little sound. I see supplies that I want/need... do I risk going to get them. Now, my Dare Devil radar sense has just let me know, that I'm not alone down here. It moved above me, and I've lost track of it.

Need to get me an adult beverage to steady my nerves.

The more I progress, the better this game gets. For those of use that like linear, semi-linear... story-driven games.... this is a must play.

Pretty sure the shiv upgrade was a training manual you find lying around early in the game. Granted, i'm only 50% of the way in, so there may be more upgrades. But I think I recall picking up a training manual for strengthening shiv's that allowed 2 used per shiv.

On another note. Last night, I played through:

The hotel. Oh. My. God. I was scared out of my mind working my way through the basement after falling down the elevator shaft. I almost crapped my pants after I started the generator and the bloater came around the corner. I wound up running up a floor and holing myself up by the door with the keycard and just taking the infected out one by one. The bloater took a molotov cocktail and basically all of my revolver ammunition to kill. I picked the rest off one by one by luring them away from each other.

This game is absolutely insane. Can not WAIT to get some more time in tonight. I enjoy the quieter moments with Joel and Ellie as much as I do the action packed areas. I actually prefer them. You should have seen the grin on my face the first time Ellie whistled.

You know you could of went through the door and not had to kill anything and saved your ammo? Lol.

Just finished the story, while I don't think its the greatest or anything of that sort, its still good.

Favorite part of the game was the (about 1/4 way through of the story)

Interaction with Bill. And then when we came across his dead friend, who left him a hate letter and Bill's reaction to it

I had my issues, like AI stomping around or walking out in the open when it was a terrible idea and just generally getting in the way while sneaking.

I'm not sure how I felt about it before but I liked their approach to fight scenes when its compared to the way Uncharted did them

Solid game in my experience and thats all I can ask for.

For all the great visuals, ND pulled off something I'd NEVER seen before. Ellie huffs out a breath like kids that age are prone to do.

Only she did it like a horse and you could see the articulation on her lips. Such a sweet detail. In animation they just stick out their to the or something.

So sweet.

I think I have a different glitch, the game just locks up during gameplay. I can't do anything, pause or even go back to the xmb screen.

Once you get the training manuals,I believe that particular weapon or skill will be automatically updated.
The ones I have so far are...
upgraded shiv
blast radius

I know there's one or 2 more,but damn if I can remember them atm.

Th tool benches will obviously give you the option to upgrade certain aspects of your weapon...recoil,fire rate and so on....providing you have the proper tool level.

They are. I found level 2 shiv update and now they last 2 stabs instead of 1 on the clickers.

It's quite unlike the mainstream multiplayer you see on typical shooters. It's great in my opinion. There are only two modes as of now, but they're good. Maps are cool too.

That's awesome news that they are coming out with some mercenary modes. That might be the reason I have been struggg-a-ling.

Honestly, this is the most fun I have had with a MP game since Uncharted 2. Can't stop playing.

Haven't really played multiplayer yet. How is the gameplay? Idk how there servers would be.

And stay low.. I think I tried using smoke bombs on that part as well, but I don't think they were all that effective.
