    Re: SimCity 5

    That is pretty good free selection, however. Kudos for that EA. Dead Space 3 sounds good to me.

    EDIT::

    From reading that, as long as you activated the game (meaning as long as you can log on and play right now) then you will receive a message about the free game on Wed the 20th for North American users.

      I was gonna make that point exactly...how funny. Hey, sorry about this online-only game guys - we did make an offline version, though (10 years ago), which you can get for free if you don't like the new one!

        Mass Effect 3 looks good to me, shocked about the list I was thinking it would be garbage games.

          With the exception of BF3 and Dead Space 3, all those games on that list can be had for under $20. So it isn't like EA is breaking the bank on this free game giveaway.

            Sales released also, 1.1m the first two weeks, 54% digitally distributed, 44% of all sales directly from Origin.

              I'm pretty surprised that the games are not a bunch of junk, but some can be had fairly cheap now. Anyone know if origin users have to do anything else to register? I doubt it but don't want to miss out. I'm probably gonna get dead space 3 or sim city 4 I have bf3 and me3 already. Kind of odd how they have big budget games and then some $5 mobile games.

                Re: SimCity 5

                I managed to get my city to just under 290K population. Traffic became such a huge problem that it basically made all my services(police, fire, etc..) worthless as they couldn't get where they needed. I ended up demolishing just about everything, which ended up being a terrible idea, as that apparently made a mass amount of criminals. took forever to "rehabilitate" them.

                dropped my city to just around 20K population, and started over with my road planning. slowly added in new sections over time. got back to about 190K pop now. traffic seems will still be an issue though. wish there were subways to help out, buses and street cars don't seem to help except make more traffic.

                  Not at the slightest, I think I said earlier that SC4 would be one of the games due to everyone who wanted an offline version, lol

                    You know what would help the traffic problem ? Bridges. If we were able to make over passes, elevated subway system with an under ground subway system, traffic wouldn't be a problem.

                      My Microsoft Surface meets the recommended specs for this, but can I install the game to a flash drive and still get same performance? I don't wasn't to clutter the hard drive with games.

                      Thanks. My understanding is that it should work as I just tried it with Civilization 5.

                        So we have 2 OSville's that have open cities and aren't getting played that much. If we could combine the people that are actually playing frequently into one region that would be awesome.

                          Hey guys, for the free game you load up Origin, select "Launch Featured Today" from the "Origin" top menu and it should bring up something that mentions the promotion. Click the button there and you'll be taken to the list of games to pick one. Once you do, it'll begin downloading.

                              Noticed quite a few questions about it running on some of your hardware setups, here's some benchmarks: http://www.techspot.com/review/648-simcity-performance/
