Yes they unfortunetly sell a lot of games. Too many lemmings into gaming.
You actually have me laughing right now, well done. I will just say this, EA makes video games, those things you play to have fun. To have them on this list to begin with is a insult to any reader with average intelligence. If you don't like their games, then don't play.

I love what you did with your last sentence though, you made your opinion a fact then called anyone who disagrees with your point of view a lemming. I will one up you, anyone who agrees with this result is so consumed with video games that they seriously need a reality check.

One more time, EA makes video games. BP damn near ruined a very sizable portion of our coast, you tell me who you are more angry with.

Where did I say it was fact? No where...
"Yes they unfortunetly sell a lot of games.(that is a fact)
Too many lemmings into gaming." is simply my opinion.

      Better?

I do play their games. I buy them used when I think they will not be a 60 value. I buy new when I think they may be.
Their track record of how I enjoy what they release is what makes my buying decisions. Nothing more, nothing less.

You say they(games) are for fun. Totally agree WHEN THEY ARE.
Yet when someone doesn't have fun with what they release and say so, they are somehow "fanboys".?.?.?

Other than baseball the NFL games are my love. EA has held the NFL games down for far too long. Hopefully the hires they are making will help. I truly hope so. It's not really EA I hate, just the games they release.
If they had competition (Disclaimer: My Opinion) Madden wouldn't nearly as bland, boring and uninspired as it currently is. I blame the NFL more than EA for that however. EA did the smart thing. they just didn't have enough pride and resposibility to make better games.

I want EA to succeed, period. I really really do. Frankly I want all game companies to rake it in as for me I care about the games not the company.

I really hope the next Madden makes some strides. I doubt we see much of a difference until a new engine (An actuall new engine and not what we got for this gen) is implemented though but theres always hope.

Traditionally, the Poo has been delivered on its little red pillow. But this year, we'll give EA three different color options for its pillow, though in the end it's still the same old Poo.

          Better? yes actually.

you will be hard pressed in finding that I ever criticized anyone for any kind of judgement on a game, I simply do not do it. I was referencing COD or WOW players who hate EA because they are loyal to Activision. I know they exist, I work with two of them.

As far as your hatred for Madden, I get it. I stopped buying Madden, it sucks every year so I wait until the reviews come out. I just have a hard time bridging the gap from crappy NFL game to worst company in the world. If you showed me this article 10 years ago when EA was buying competition then laying off those employees, I would have agreed with you.

Am I and a lot of others angry? Yes, who wouldn't shake their head at a mistake like that, but I'm 99.9% that BP didn't plan for that to happen and would take it back in a heartbeat if they could, it was a mistake that they had to take responsibility for, IMO that doesn't make them the worst company(nor am I saying EA is IMO) for that mistake, in your opinion, maybe but I can't say for sure.

Everyone has their own opinions and should not be judged based off of my or your own sense of rationality, because we all can have our own sense of it, at times even sharing the same sense. I wouldn't get all worked up about something that isn't going to change nor trying to understand what people may be thinking when they did something or else you'll go sometimes the "irrationals" in our minds win.

This could simply be a case where this poll just happened to be exposed to a dominant number of ones who haven't had a worse experience with a company, in their opinion, than with EA versus the rest of people who voted otherwise.

I hear you man and agree about the "worse company". I even said I have other companies ahead. My main responses were more pointed toward the "fanboy" comments. Were a lot of the "votes" (I didn't vote BTW) fanboy votes? Probably but people can't group everyone in that area.

I love many games output by EA, I just have a bad taste in my mouth due to football.

Man, I had to sit back and think about how to respond to that without violating the TOS here. EA's response is weak right there. Those other companies that EA listed didn't do the voting. So I suppose if Bank of America got voted highest their response would be, "We'll just keep opening bank accounts to millions of Americans."

Maybe they should take a step back and think about the fact that, while some other companies maybe should be in that place, EA is still placed there among voters. I like EA but that response does indeed shed light on how they ignore their consumers.

IMO, that EA won this reflects worse on the Consumerist and the people who voted than it does EA.

Let's face it, EA isn't foisting it's products on anyone, EA isn't releasing products that are killing people, EA isn't defrauding people, EA isn't polluting entire cities into oblivion, EA isn't exploiting a desperate third world population, EA isn't price fixing a necessary commodity. EA made a few pieces of entertainment that didn't live up to whatever expectations some people placed on them, to suggest that makes EA the worst company in America is self-important and petty.

The biggest issue is most likely DLC (Disc Lock Content) I don't understand how some people can defend EA. I'm a fan of Fight Night and NHL. But I know better and know when a company tries to take advantage. Mortgages on the other hand, its the name of the business to kick people out if you don't pay up. It not a matter of what's worst I just know how EA will blatantly disrespect consumers.

I'm cross-posting my thoughts from the a thread with the same subject in the NCAA Football forum.

The results are from a voluntary poll on the internet. The people who find a poll like this to begin with already have a bone to pick with whomever they are voting against. Gamers are also known to be an overly vocal contingent.

I feel like the situation surrounding Mass Effect 3 has far more to do with this than anything related to EA Sports, and that moreover this poll is by no means representative of anything whatsoever.

I also wholeheartedly agree with the ones who posted in this thread regarding EA's place in the grand scheme of things in this world.

The poll is about consumers and video game customers are consumers whose consumer rights are constantly harmed.

People who enter a shop and buy a 60$ product has a right to receive a fully functioning product or to return it. Has a right to be informed when a server will be shut down. Has a right to know if a product is incomplete and if he will need to buy an addendum to complete it. Has a right to receive responses when inquiring a customer service.

Answering "you don't like it, don't buy it" equals to basically deny the whole sense of consumer rights.

I don't think anyone is outright defending EA. What people are defending is that EA's place at the top of the list is pretty asinine considering everything else going on in global finance and commerce. It is silly that a video game company somehow takes precedence over these other companies that have a more legitimate claim to being "the worst."

Consumers have the "right" to not buy a product if they think they're being taken advantage of. Consumers have the "right" and ability (especially now with the internet and its vast amounts of information) to research and get to know a product before buying it. I don't understand this idea of buying a broken product and then bitching because it is broken.

So basically, it's par for the course for gamers?
