Good sir, I recently went for a check up and my pulse is at 109, The Show gives me mini heart attacks. Think I'll skip this one unless someone tells me its a great 3rd person shooter without them jump moments!

I don't know what the hubbub was about this being a straight port to the PC....it has enough options IMO to keep any PC gamer happy...also 120hz option for extra smoothness!

            Re: Dead Space 3

Loving the game so far,I played about 2.5 hours so far,and have been having a blast.
I beat the 1st one,but skipped the 2nd one (can't remember why now) but I will go back at some point and pick it up....I'm not sure how hard the story will be to pick up since I didn't play part 2.

The atmosphere is once again awesome, and I can't wait to did further into this one.
The only worry I have is the game's length. In just the 2.5 hours I played last night,I'm already on chapter 4. I don't know how many chapters there are,but I surely hope this isn't a quick ride.

Oh yea,the weapon stuff is pretty cool also....don't want to go into great detail about it though,as I don't want to ruin it for others.

....I know I'll be checking 2 out as well at some point,I just don't want to get to bogged down with games right now as it seems SOMEthing always ends up on the back burner, only to never get played again.

                            Eurogamer - 7

Dead Space 3 is a contradiction. Gorgeous but scruffy; tightly packed yet stretched too thin; often frustrating, frequently thrilling and bursting at the seams with stuff, not all of which fits comfortably inside the boundaries the series has set for itself. It's certainly not a great game, except perhaps as a poster child for the kitchen-sink development mentality of a console generation in its twilight months. But it does manage to balance out every misstep with something worthwhile. Sadly, newcomers with no preconceptions will likely enjoy this rollercoaster more than the series' fans.
                            IGN - 7.8

The combat system and the world Visceral has crafted in Dead Space 3 is so expertly built and well-wrought, I found myself consciously overlooking my main criticisms, because I love playing it and spending time with it. This is an important distinction to make: loving a game while being fully aware of its faults. Dead Space 3, when played the way I've been playing it, on New Game+, is an engrossing and satisfying experience. But it requires ignoring the bad story and the numbing to-do lists. It then becomes all about building up the most powerful, best outfitted Isaac you can imagine. It’s here and here alone that Dead Space 3 succeeds, mostly in spite of itself.
                            Polygon - 9.5

Dead Space 3 is a monster of a game. Visceral avoided major deviations from the gameplay loop established by the previous games, instead choosing to refine those mechanics. But it has made major, substantive additions to the game's structure that make Dead Space 3 feel much more ambitious. Even more surprisingly, it has successfully executed on all of them. Visceral hasn't just avoided screwing up its game with co-op — it has made it feel natural and at home, and has done it without impacting the single-player experience in any negative way. That alone would be enough to make Dead Space 3 an achievement. But the new crafting system and bigger, more open level structure join co-op to make Dead Space 3 one of the best action games in years.
                            Destructoid - 8

Dead Space 3 could have been the best entry in the series, and in many ways, it still does provide some of the franchise's most energetic, thrilling, entertaining moments. The changes thrown into the game inevitably damage its charm, though, and make this a step down from its predecessors. A step down from Dead Space's high standards don't necessarily make for a bad game -- far from it, in fact, for this is still a bloody great game and well worth any fans' time. It's sad that market pressure and industry fear tried so hard to ruin things, but one can at least savor the victory of Dead Space 3's creative success in spite of commercial encroachment.
                            Gamespot - 8.0

From its terrific weapon crafting system to its deep well of side content, Dead Space 3 is a massive game rich with options and personalization. Whether you choose to approach it with a friend or by your lonesome, using a plasma cutter or an acid grenade launcher, Dead Space 3 makes fighting for survival a delight.
                            Gamesradar - 3.5/5

As a solo experience, Dead Space 3 is the weakest entry in the series. The tension's still there, but it's the kind you can kill bullet by bullet until nothing is left except the dull pangs of tedium. But when you're dismembering Necromorphs with a friend at your side, it becomes a greatly enjoyable cooperative adventure. Just don't expect to feel much of that distantly familiar fear-based anxiety--in Dead Space 3, that's one terrifying monster that's nowhere to be found.
                            Gametrailers - 7.7

Dead Space 3 has the bad habit of drawing you into a tantalizing catastrophe right before goading you right back into its more tedious and borderline exploitative elements. The quest is long and the side-content plentiful, but it all comes at the expense of the atmosphere. In our estimation, it’s a poor bargain.
                            Joystiq - 4.5/5

This can't repeat the original Dead Space's first-blush brilliance, but it does make for an interesting, thoughtfully constructed horror game. Dead Space 3's only major stumble, which is forgivable in light of its other accomplishments, is in combat against other armed soldiers. The problem isn't what you might think: The established mechanics work fine with an added crouch toggle, but the level layout usually colors your expectations immediately. Walking into an area of cover-capable crates eliminates surprise, and is definitely veering too deeply into regular action territory.

Dead Space 3: Awakened DLC announced

Our Dead Space 3 review hasn't even had time to cool down yet, but Visceral Games has announced its seemingly obligatory downloadable expansion. Dead Space 3: Awakened is slated for a March release, Visceral's confirmed this morning.

Awakened promises Dead Space's "darkest chapters as the Necromorph battles become even more gruesome and terrifying than ever before." It'll be available for $9.99, known in some circles as 800 Microsoft Points.

This was not unexpected. Dead Space 2: Severed was similarly announced on DS2's launch day. Still, as expected as it was, methinks the announcement isn't going to go over well with folks already pissed over microtransactions and day-one DLC. I think my choice of header image communicates the general sentiment.
