I agree. For those who have not played DS 1 and 2 your missing the boat...for that matter the ship.

Like Mass Effect playing the the entire series is a must to get the complete experience.

DS3 is the most refined of course and DS 1 the most shocking. All three are truly legendary games IMO.

What I am loving about DS3 is the new weapons system. Truly awesome!

Again you had to play 1 and 2 to half way appreciate this game...watching videos on YouTube won't give you the same experience...your missing out on a lot...

I def may have to do that. I played more last night, and just could not get into it. Nothing was pulling me back or was grabbing my attention.

Imo its the game. I play and tolerate because im a fan of 1 and 2. But 3 is just lackluster. Its a decent game with a great title.

1 and 2 were all about surviving and making items last. You might need to heal but was it worth using your last medium health pack, or should you see if you could hang on a little further?
Getting to a save point and thinking about if you could tolerate to the next save point.
5 rounds left and making sure you hit all limbs.

Nothing sticks out in this game. Outside of the title its hardly DS. Dont get me wrong i enjoy the game but not really what i wanted.

Whats up with enemies dissappearing after you kill them? Really?!

Most the necros look dumb. The blind ones are legit tho.

YOu have a decent point about the survival aspect of 1 & 2. I am finding plenty of ammo and health on DS3.

You really had to think about conservation on 1&2 in that regard.

I still love DS3 though. Is it the best one in the series? No it's not. I give that to the original just for the sheer terror and pure scares. It was truly a freaky game and a one of a kind experience.

DS2 had better controls and was far better in not having to do all that back tracking in the original. The game was also very difficult.

I am just getting into DS3 so once I am done I will give a full impression. But the pace I play games these days that will be in a month or two. LOL. So damn busy with life these days. I have barely any time to play right now let alone my current rotation of games which as you can see is large.

I love sci fi. It is probably my favorite genre. I had to get a new rechargeable battery dock for my 360 today so I took a pile of games to trade in so I could pick this up. Just finished the prologue. My goodness. Love it!

Inside Isaacs apartment and this game is realising for me how a futuristic world can translate in epic proportions to a video game. I am in love with what I am seeing.

I'm about 75% done and I am not enjoying the game. For reference, I absolutely LOVED the first game and enjoyed the 2nd (though not as much as the 1st.)

The switch to more action and shooting just doesn't translate well to this series, given the mechanics and controls haven't changed much. It seems like all the game does is lock you in a room and throw a ridiculous amount of enemies at you. Enemies that move very fast and always appear behind you and surround you. Expect to take a good amount of damage and spend a lot of ammo in those sections because the enemies can be plenty cheap. But it is ok, after you kill all 25 enemies the floor will be littered with ammo and health. Rinse, repeat. I'm finding the entire process bland, tedious and boring.

I prefer having less ammo and resources that I have to manage and fewer but tougher enemies that will take skill to take down.

Shame. At this point in the game (last couple of hours) I doubt it will do a 180 and win me over by the end.

I think I'm about 20% done, having a good time so far except for the whole crafting weapons thing. Just not into that part. I still have the original plasma cutter I'm using. I guess I will have to make something more powerful soon.

It seems to take a while to gather sufficient parts for crafting. Then again the game encourages multiple play throughs with the Game + option so maybe unique parts are deliberately difficult to come across in one playing?

I am thoroughly enjoying DS3. I have a high powered shotgun with a lower tool mod that doesnt do much damage but sends enemies flying backward. Very useful for getting some room between Isaac and rushing necros.

I think the game world is amazing. Brilliantly realized settings and first rate lighting and art direction. Graphically, game really shows off.

Where would you rank 3 Sword? I am liking it so much it is almost pushing the first Dead Space from top place in the series.

For horror/survival Dead Space 1 wins.

For action/survival Dead Space 3 dominates.

For more good DS indulgence Dead Space 2 steps up.

The series is a total triumph.

I can't say just yet. I am only a 1/3 of the way through the game. But it is by far the most polished and tightest of the three. The game still brings some chills but like you said DS3 is more of a survival action game than horror. DS 1 and 2 were pure horror survival with DS2 refining the controls and cutting back on the back tracking. The landscape and atmosphere on DS3 is brilliant. I love the change in scenery. I have not even touched multi player and I have heard good things about it as well.

DS 1 will remain my favorite due to the sheer terror it gave me on my first play through. It really freaked me out. LOL.

About 15-20% through and loving it. I like it more than DS2 for sure.
