    Re: Cyberpunk 2077

Series X it is OK, will only get beteer though.

I am having a real hard time settling on either Controller or KBM. Walking around and talking/Driving like the controller, but combat, for me, seems real hard with it.

      Cyberpunk 2077

      Just got our copy delivered.

Data disc is loading then the two patches.

Reading the compendium and looking over the map as well......I am going to love this adventure and journey.

I have decided to be a corpo turned hacker/ninja assassin type.

Had the good life and then it all went to hell and I am on a quest of pure vengeance on anyone who rubs me the wrong way.

        Re: Cyberpunk 2077

So, I have what is probably going to be an unpopular opinion.

Cyberpunk 2077 is not a great game.

It is a good game, with a lot of really cool components. It's not revolutionary by any means though, and older games did what it tries to do but better.

I can't help but draw the comparison to GTA with this game because so much of the gameplay feels identical. Now, I like the setting of Cyberpunk better, but GTA V was a far superior open world game. GTA V was released the same year that we got the teaser trailer for Cyberpunk in 2013. Despite the 7+ years of development with better technology and hardware, Cyberpunk is missing so many of the little details that I expect from an open world game.*

Little things like not being able to shoot out car tires and how the AI react to you are missing from this game. The physics engines aren't even in the same stratosphere. If you get knocked down in Cyberpunk, it's always the same animation. In GTA there were actual physics involved. Outside of the named NPC's, the cyberpunk AI are just decorations on screen. GTA's NPC fillers weren't great either, but they would at least react to the player in more ways than we get in Cyberpunk.*

Gameplay wise I can say that combat is definitely better in Cyberpunk. I also like the weight that cars have when driving vs the way too light feel of cars in GTA. The world does not feel alive though (even with the dozens of NPC citizens on screen at any given time).**

This isn't a love letter to GTA. I have been tired of the GTA formula for a long time. I just think that so much of the game's concepts feels like this could have been GTA 2077 so it's hard to not make that comparison, and it's missing so many of the pieces that make an open world game feel real and alive. I guess I was hoping for something like Fallout/Outerworlds style immersion, but with more fluid combat. Instead I feel like it's a GTA clone with less emphasis on the details.

I know people are having fun with it, I am too, but I think this is just a case of the hype train getting carried away. I wonder how much detail ended up being cut to get the product out the door after a long development cycle and several delays.

Did you buy Cyberpunk 2077 on last-gen consoles? I did! It’s buggy and looks rough. CD Projekt Red is now sorry about that. In an official joint statement

I think the digital foundry video was before Saturday's patch which closed the gap a bit between the two modes.

I still think quality is fair bit sharper while performance is smoother, but I haven't cared enough to really A/B the two for the other differences.

On the base versions of the consoles, it's probably for the best to stay away.

I don’t have firsthand experience but from what I’ve read the game is buggy and crashes a lot for all platforms, so throw in framerate dips into the teens on top of every other problem and yeah 4/10 makes sense.
                    Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

Had a couple of crashes tonight while playing CP 2077 on the PC but I am still loving the game. Learned that Quick Saving is a life saver.

The framerates are much better after the first patch. The graphics could use some cleaning up still, but other then that I've had only one crash in about 3 hours of game.

Just so you guys know PCDR said they have another patch coming sometime in the next 7 days, a really big patch jan 1, and another at beginning of February. They said after all those patches the graphics on last gen consoles should be much much better then they are.. plus the bugs and crashes should be pretty cleaned up after those 3.

It's depressing me to have to sit here with the game and not play it because my new PC won't be here until Thursday. I have a PS5 and while it runs, it's just not up to par for me. I have a few friends that run it on PC and I want to experience it with a better level of detail and performance. I was in need of an upgrade on my PC anyway so after I'm done with Cyberpunk I'll be going back and playing some other games on PC that I've been wanting to.

One of my friends has the game on the last gen Xbox One or whatever the last gen was called and I can say his experience is totally different from what I'm experiencing on the PS5.

I've had a handful of crashes, but thanks to how quickly the PS5 fires games back up and how often the game quick-saves (I've also started saving frequently myself just in case), it hasn't really annoyed me personally. Beyond that, the only bugs I've experienced are unconscious bodies not always laying flat when I pick them up and move them (and even sometimes, an unconscious body will stand back up and go sit down on a nearby couch as if they're still alive lol) and occasionally you'll see characters that are smoking and the game will duplicate the cigarettes for some reason so you'll have a couple cigarettes floating around the character instead of just one being in their hand.

My friend has had a lot of instances of his car just totally freezing; the game will make the sounds as if he's continuing to drive, hitting walls and stuff, but the car isn't actually moving anywhere. He's had faces just disappear and a bunch of other stuff too, not to mention the crashing being worse.

I tried telling everyone we should just skip to The Witcher 4.

In all seriousness I've played maybe 6 hours and the story is interesting so far and most cut scene/story missions look pretty good. The open world is where a lot of the problems come for me and vehicles are a lot of it. I've had motorcycles completely drop out of the sky on top of me.

All of my crashes so far seem to have happened when I exited photo mode. I'm mostly just disappointed that it won't run at a resolution any higher than about 1200P. CD Projekt Red lost a lot of good vibes and good reputation over the launch of this game and that is putting all the Jason "buy my book" Schreier hit pieces to the side and not examining them.

I think since Sony denied my refund I'll keep playing it, but I was prepared to use the money to buy Valhalla and wait on this game. You have to change a lot of settings to get the gameplay feeling right though. I know I changed the camera sway option and my horizontal sensitivity and it made the game feel much better. I just wish the aim acceleration didn't exist.

Anyways.. I hate that a lot of people have been mislead on last gen consoles and even this gen to a certain degree. It's really crappy on CDPR's part.
