Re: State of Decay (GTA meets Zombie Apocalypse - Xbox Exclusive)
Just finished State of Decay. Awesome game, I think it would have benefited GREATLY by being longer though. Although I did lose a few people throughout the game, I never really felt all that threatened, and resources were never really in danger of being depleted for me. The church never really got attacked at all, definitely never feared having my whole crew wiped out by hordes attacking the church, but still I went ahead and moved to the warehouse after I got 12 people just in case. Got the achievement for 15 survivors RIGHT before the final mission haha.
SpoilerThe ending was so anti-climatic
Whether you beat it or not, what would you give this game out of 10? I'm thinking 8.5/10. Awesome game, really glad I bought it, but there were a few quirks along the way. Would be a 9-9.5 easily if they added online co op.
Wish they had a difficulty level.Comment

Re: State of Decay (GTA meets Zombie Apocalypse - Xbox Exclusive)
This game is now on deck and waiting for me tonight, assuming no plans come up and the weather allows me to play. I sort of want to wait on the patch, but at the same time i'm really interested in checking this out.Comment

You're good to play up until you reach the church.
Once you reach the church, that's when the glitches will start to affect your game experience.
So I would say start it up and take your time doing as much as you can in the "tutorial" area.Comment

Re: State of Decay (GTA meets Zombie Apocalypse - Xbox Exclusive)
Yeah, a difficulty level would be great. Before I bought it, I saw a let's play from a guy who constantly went out and burned through his stamina and still won/ran away from most encounters successfully. That said, it's still an awesome experience.Comment

Re: State of Decay (GTA meets Zombie Apocalypse - Xbox Exclusive)
These are the major ones getting fixed:
- Playable characters can no longer be killed by the simulation when you turn the game off.
- Workshop now repairs weapons and vehicles at in-game dawn rather than the next real-world day.
- The “Too many infestations!” event will now only occur when there are too many infestations within 500m of your Home, rather than anywhere in the world.
- The “Too many infestations” to-do item is now cleared when there is only one remaining infestation within 500m of your Home, rather than anywhere in the world.
Infestation glitch being the biggest one.Comment

Re: State of Decay (GTA meets Zombie Apocalypse - Xbox Exclusive)
I don't think anyone really needs to wait on the patch, to be honest. The infestations thing was annoying at first but it is very easy to counter and boost morale back up. The car thing isn't worth waiting however long it takes for a patch to not spend time playing this game. And I didn't even know about the playable characters thing, but I can deal with that, too.
And yes, this game really needs a difficulty settingCeltics Bruins Sox Eagles Liverpool

Re: State of Decay (GTA meets Zombie Apocalypse - Xbox Exclusive)
Difficulty never really pops into my head while I'm playing it. I guess I could do with more difficult zombie encounters (have had quite a few VERY close calls), but to me this "beta" is more about figuring out the game mechanics and how to manage your base and community. I'm 10-15 hours in and still changing up my techniques for things. Whenever they release a full retail version I wouldn't mind more difficult encounters, but I would also like to see rival communities pop up. Imaging this game with the relationship mechanic of Mass Effect, with an even more in-depth management/upgrade base system, enhanced combat and shooting, and this game would be a GOAT contender.
Question on the infestations:
There aren't any shown on the map, but I still have the message about too many. Does that mean I have to drive around and find them?

Re: State of Decay (GTA meets Zombie Apocalypse - Xbox Exclusive)
I'm still digging into the game.
I left the tutorial area after scavenging the whole area before leaving. The first mission out at night was a little spooky because I didn't know what to expect. I went out in the old beat up truck, trying not to actually hit any zombies walking around. I paced around the tower a few times, afraid to get out on foot
I kept thinking, "Why am I doing this by myself ?".
So, I get spotted and scale the tower with zombies nipping at my heels and then when I have to come down and face them, I tried planning it out before ultimately just saying "**** it" and just climbed down.
The game is still new to me so I get the sketchy vibe still. I'm sure that will go away eventually.
Pretty cool game so far, but I know I have barely scratched the surface only being a few hours in.Comment

To everyone (including me) who thinks the game is a bit too easy, how about replaying without ever using pills or snacks? I think that could be interesting, and it'd definitely make the game tougher.Comment

Well luckily for me I am still experiencing the infestation glitch as well as the fact I haven't got a mission in the past 3 days (real life). I'm about to give up on the game. I checked the undead labs forum and others are also catching bugs.
