    Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I wish I had more time for multiplayer. Wish it was more players and I'd even buy it as a standalone game. Would make for some good LAN fun.

Just played a few matches as the Bard over the last couple of weeks, different casting mechanic having to queue up chords before striking them, like it a lot.

I need to go back and finish this game. I burned out at about 140 hours in. Yes... I was doing every single quest that came my way. heh

I kind of wish there weren't so many quests myself. I got this game a few weeks ago and have played over 40 hours and just got to Skyhold. I'm playing on hard and it's been a good challenge. I wish I wasn't a Mage though as just blasting people with spells from afar has gotten a little old. I rarely use my other party members but enjoyed being Blackwall the other day. He has some cool moves. I'm going to use my other people more which is a nice option.

I have enjoyed the game although I haven't been blown away either. It took me 20 hours just how to figure everything out as an RPG rookie. Reading about how important and cool the side quests are in witcher 3 makes me a little envious since most side quests don't feel important to me in DAI.

Definitely going to continue playing although it's going to take me over 100 hours for sure to finish this game.

Yeah, you just got to Skyhold though. The game gets harder after Skyhold. And the Jaws of Hakkon DLC will definitely kick your butt.

I only chose hard after reading the game was too easy. But the story piece that gets you to Skyhold kicked my butt for a long time. I had to go back to an earlier save and level up some more before trying that again. Not sure if I made a mistake trying hard but I wanted the combat to be challenging. I've got everyone at level 11 right now.

                    Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I've played this game for about 100 hours and I'm not done. It's about twice as long as it should be. Too many side quests like shard collecting (is this inFamous?), too many rifts to close, too many similar things. The world doesn't feel alive to me - it feels overly repetitive. I'd like to see a bigger city somewhere in the game too.

The story missions are OK. Some of the side stuff is cool like storming a keep you find, finding a cave or a high dragon to fight but there needs to be more cool side things as too much feels like busy work. The game itself if solid to me with nothing that stands out as great. If it weren't for my obsessive behaviour to collect things and finish the game I'd have probably given up by now. Nothing else to play until Madden comes out anyways.

I'd much rather have a game that is 40-60 hours and most of the stuff meaningful and interesting than 120+ hours of DAI that isn't necessary half the time. Plus you could go back and play with a different character if the game was shorter but after this amount of time with the game I doubt I'll ever replay this game with someone else.

This is a solid but not great game. They should learn from the entertainers that you always want them leaving more. Instead they gave us the opposite.

Man, this isn't the game to be playing if you have that problem.

Hell you shouldn't be playing RPGs period. They all have massive amount of stuff to collect if you choose to.

I am new to RPGs. Is every RPG a 100+ hour game? I doubt I'll finish this game without at least 125 hours if not more. That's simply too much time for a single play through imo. Was going to give Witcher 3 a shot over Christmas since I heard the side stuff is more meaningful and has more impact on your story. You don't really have the option of speeding this game up without dropping down to easy since you need to level up and get power to advance the story.

Pretty much yes. That is what makes an RPG a RPG. Take a very long time to beat, multiple side quests, collectible items, grinding to level up your character or party, open world with tons of things to explore and discover. You have to level up and get power to advance the story line in every RPG game. That is the core of the RPG genre.

RPGs aren't mean't to be beaten fast. They are a slow paced marathon of exploration and discovery. All properly made RPGs take well over 100 hours to beat. Hell I easily have sunken over 200 hours in Skyrim.

Nah man, this game was padded out with a lot of bs, tbh. There's a reason it's so heavily criticized for all the MMO like...collect 20 of so and so of these.
