Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
About ending
SpoilerSolas is an old elven god, the one who sealed the other gods away a long time ago, then he went away and hibernated. Once he awoke, he wasn't powerful enough to charge the orb, so he gave it to corypheus to charge, hoping to take it back before corypheus could use it. That's why he didn't like seeing it destroyed. Perhaps he was planning on using it to unseal the old gods, the game doesn't specify.
Flemeth is possessed by one of the old gods that was murdered, and it seems her spirit was passed on from Flemeth to solas.
With Tevinter playing a part in this game, and solas being who he is along with the old God he absorbed from flemeth, I get the feeling they are setting up the next game being in or about tevinter and the old fallen elven capital city of arlathan.SpoilerThanks, I did some research and read some articles, I do remember a conversation where Cole tells Solas it's ok, it had to be done, type speech! and Solas replying...I was young I thought i knew everything!
They probably could have elaborated on what the orb does, how powerful it is, what it is, what it means in a little more detail...
It would have been awesome if they actually mentioned more about the "Dread Wolf" during the game through conversation...and at the end when Flemeth calls him Dread Wolf more minds would have been blown!Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
First, thanks to the people that put spoilers in spoiler tags. Second, apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere in the thread...for fear of having things spoiled, I don't want to read too much.
Anyway, I picked this game up at the beginning of the year when I got my PS4. I've really enjoyed it so far but was so eager to play it that I just skipped past the initial "Dragon Age Keep" question. Wish I would've taken some time to figure out what that was about before I got started because it sounds like how the original PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 used a comic book style to catch people up on Shepard's story. Is that right?
From what I've read, it's not as focused on the character though...it's more the history of the world. If that's true, I'm hoping it will help me understand a little more about what's going on in the world. That and I'm REALLY OCD about starting any story (TV, book, movie, games, etc) in the "middle" so, even if they aren't part of a single storyline, maybe that would help me fight off that nagging feeling that I'm missing something from the first couple games.
Any thoughts? I'm guessing that I've got less than 8-10 hours into the game so it's still early based on the lengths that I'm seeing online. I don't think I'd be too disappointed starting over at this point if it meant a better a better overall experience for me.PSN: JWGoNDComment

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Very long video, but I found it to be informative of why they have certain things in the game and why certain things aren't in the game. Also explained why this game, like pretty much every game nowadays have online multiplayer. It also gives you the sense of how damn long it takes to make a RPG game.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Just started tinkering with this again lately, feel like I'm taking a long time to grow into the starting area and the 2nd rift I'm supposed to close in the farm area near the river is multiple levels higher than it should be. I'm also clearing dungeons with my level 5-8 group and getting and inventory full of 12-18 drops it seems.
All things that fix themselves in time, but it doesn't take much for the gaming ADD to kick in and I put it away indefinitely again :-pComment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Yeah that rift near the farm river is darn tough even though the other ones are not in that area
I had to come back to itComment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
So yeah, guess I should pay attention to quests more. I'm on 'talk to someone' just after 'get 4/4 influence'. I took off for hinterlands when I first played I guess... In at over 20 influence.
Time to advance the story, lol.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
They knew what they were doing with that river rift. Up till that point you were beasting every single encounter. Then you hit that rift and it's like...
Oh. Things got real.
Also, I accidentally attacked a druffalo in the early game, the one you're supposed to bring back to the farm.
Things got really real there too.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Only thing I hate about picking a rpg up after you left it, is that you have a hard time remembering where you are, what you have already done and stuff like that
I got really busy with work then new games released so I out DA down for a bit. It's such a great game though I wanna start playing it againComment
