Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I'm about 40hrs in and just got to Skyhold. This game is absolutely amazing, I haven't enjoyed a game this much since I first played Skyrim.
I've read a few reviews which claimed the game's story is weak and unconvincing. Those people have to be completely insane.
SpoilerThe first scene in Skyhold gave me the chills.Last edited by kaletore11; 01-02-2015, 01:23 PM.Khalabeeb - Tony Henderson

Spoiler
Some things I didn't like were the Mage v. Templar war ending so abruptly without any sort of resolution. Yes the opposing faction ends up siding with Cory (to prevent misspelling his name hah), but after that everyone is claiming the war is over and it's odd because neither Templar or Mage gives a conclusion that would deem that to be an outcome, I would've liked one or two more missions or something to show how the inquisition tied up loose ends or such. It just doesn't happen.
The conclusion of the game (not the actual ending), was also a bit of a buzz kill as well, building him up to be a huge enemy and he ends up just being a baddie with a bigger life bar. A few aesthetic differences such as the world crumbling around you or such as you fought (yes I know the dragons crash around), would've gone a long way to show this, but I wouldn't harp on that.
The actual ending itself felt a little bit forced to show off potential for a sequel or DLC, it was a twist but as soon as someone said he went missing, I knew something was odd. I just can't believe they are going to make another game with the baddie attempting to transcend [or rather further himself] into god hood once again. [Yes, entirely assuming Solas ends up being a bad guy, given his murder of Flemeth and his admittance to god hood.]
Yet, for the complaints, the game did twist it's lore well and tie in the games story and arcing side story lines to make it compelling enough that I was interested, but a drive to find out what's next, was never there for me.Bulls|Bears|Cubs| Blackhawks|Huskies|Horned Frogs|

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
The story isn't overly strong (imo), I wasn't ever compelled to push through story missions to get through, but I wouldn't call it weak either. I mean, it's a bit bigger of a story to those that have played the past games to be able to connect all the dots, but outright calling it weak is far from the truth.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I'm getting close to the end now, probably only a couple more main missions left. I personally think the story is exceptional. I include the companion missions and the codex entries/letters as all vital parts of the story myself. For me it's a very compelling and interesting narrative. Your mileage will vary.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
This is easily game of the year for me, and it reminds me a lot of Skyrim. Not so much gameplay wise but the fact that the main story is good enough to keep me progressing through it, all while making sure to complete as many side quests as possible.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Have yall played online? The multiplayer reminds me of a FTP game but with not that much emphasis on money. It is really good though, completing the mission are tough at the end.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
After 2 weeks of still wanting this game (a level of focus to which I have never experienced) I finally picked it up last night.
Glad I went hard on New Years Eve because I see myself playing this rather than hitting the bars over winter break haha..
Amazing game, exactly what I was looking for, I've never played mass effect so the dialogue engine is completely new and awesome to me.

Man, the Reaver specialization for the 2H Warrior is so powerful. Now that I have Dragon Rage and it's upgrade unlocked, I'm absolutely slaughtering enemies. Just gotta be careful and time when to use Devour to recover some health so I don't accidentally die.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
The story really picks up...Spoilerafter you pick a side, the whole Haven battle was really intense. The Elder Mage seems pretty badass as well
Romance related
SpoilerNot being able to romance Sera seems kind of a bummer, the only female character that seems ok.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Finally finished the game: took me 108 hours in all. I still have 4 treasure maps to figure out, 2 requisitions and 1 item from a quest to find. Other than that, I have completed everything. Marvelous game, GOTY for me, at least off the top of my head.
Now, for a few final thoughts:
SpoilerI can't believe Solas turned evil at the end. He was my right-hand-man and most trusted advisor the entire game. Any thoughts as to what exactly happened there and what this means for the future of the series or possible DLC?
I chose to drink from the Well Of Sorrows myself rather than allowing Morrigan. With the way things played out, I am thinking that was a big mistake. If I had a save for right before that point I would redo it and let her drink, but I do not. Oh well. Hate to think of what that may mean for my Inquisitor.
Completely sucks that once the main quest is done the romance options are over. I romanced the hell out of Cassandra and now whenever I approached her all she has to say is "Hello Inquisitor." Was I just a piece of meat to her?! :-)
