Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Yeah, I was looking for some more focus rather than playing it like Mordor or something, and just playing the map icon game. Opened my journal and thought it was hilarious I was on a quest that said to get 4 influence and I was sitting at 25. Then finally noticed there was a world map and that I could get back to Haven that way, which I'd never done.
Looking forward to completing the basic haven stuff now, looks like when I first played I ended up at the war table first thing and jumped into Hinterlands.
Need to figure out how to get my CE items and stuff too, I know where stuff is but I don't know where the items and places specified are at even.
Every time I stop though over the last few days I can't wait to get back on though, it's got my attention for sure right now.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Iron Bull was a killer for me with 2 handed weapons. Once you get him to level 15 and higher, he wreaks major havoc. It is all about setting up the AI correctly and turning off moves that aren't effective for the role you want that character to play. You definitely can be a tank with a 2 handed weapon.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I usually pair Iron Bull with a straight tank (and set him to follow that tank) and then make sure that character is keeping the enemies attention while Iron Bull doles out punishment. Him (DPS), a tank (taunting enemies and raising guard), an archer (DPS), and a mage (with barrier) is almost unfair with some levels gained. By the time the guard and barriers wear off, Iron Bull has wiped through most of what's in front of him.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
He can be frustrating early on, but it's all about skill distribution and party balance. While he'll never function as a straight up tank without sacrificing really valuable DPS skills, he can balance out to hold his own long enough for those skills to destroy the enemy. I try to outfit him with anything that bolsters his constitution (armor, accessories, and a couple of early skill upgrades with a constitution bonus).

I always had iron bull with Cassandra with Cassandra tanking. I will definitely try to set him to follow Cassandra and see if that helps.YNWAComment

Yeah, I found that it seems like it let's him give the tank a bit of time to gain aggro. Also, in terms of skill selection, the bodyguard skill for the tanks is especially beneficial when you use front end DPS types.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Only thing I hate about picking a rpg up after you left it, is that you have a hard time remembering where you are, what you have already done and stuff like that
I got really busy with work then new games released so I out DA down for a bit. It's such a great game though I wanna start playing it again

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I am on the fence about picking up this game. I played about 6 hours with EA Access. As with DA 2 I enjoyed the characters and the story, but the combat can be so stiff and clunky at times. Does it get better throughout the game?
Debating between this in Fire Emblem for 3DS. Was going to just hold off until Witcher 2 buy May isn't getting here soon enough.Comment
