    Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I played Origins but skipped 2. Finally did some heavy looking into inquisition today and am impressed. A lot.

Why does this and FC3 have to come out on the same date? I'm so torn now. Ps4 share play is going to be put to good use the week of November 18th.

Barely any chatter on this game and it looks like it could be amazing.

Shooters ruling gaming these days. Nobody wants dragons and ogres and mages anymore.

Look at the traffic Shadow of Mordor thread gets. Pretty much the same story over there.

I just avoid it because I don't want to be spoiled. After a certain time it seems people just love to talk openly about details I don't want to know about.

Spoilers are one of my biggest pet peeves. Also the reason I don't watch a lot of gameplay videos. I want to experience the action for the 1st time when the controller is in my hand.

Probably my most anticipated game of the year.

I mean. A game like this is all story and you can easily be spoiled.

Like I saw a trailer that had something very important in it. I won't even say what it was, but it's something that would be better left found out while playing.

But what can you spoil about the next CoD game? "On the 8th mission, you shoot the guy." Disclaimer: I happen to like CoD. I don't play it much, but it's a fine series.

That one COD that you kill all the civilians at the airport is a pretty big spoiler/surprise.

There's really not much in the game to be spoiled, though. The main storyline is probably the worst part of the game and everything else is just open gameplay/combat tactics.

That's true but as a general rule once a game is out a few days everybody likes to talk about plot lines and what not. The Last of Us Remastered is a prime example. Better safe than sorry for me.

True. But it's for shock value alone. You could just hear about the terrorist attack without playing it and it wouldn't change the story impact.

However. If you play Mass Effect and don't know about Virmire, the moment the choice comes up is way more meaningful because you don't get Virmire until you're a ways into the game.

It's a meaningful story moment you don't wanna have spoiled.

That's how Dragon Age will be. It'll have moments that mean a lot for the story that can't be taken out, that you wanna experience straight up for the first time.

I preordered COD, so I'm going to start with that. I will be interested in how you guys get on with this game. Personally, a beautiful, large open world game is what I am hoping for. Something that has really good combat like Dark Souls. Heck, the Dark Souls world was amazing to me as well. I'd love to read some size comparisons to that.

You can't really compare the combat between the 2, because Dark Souls is an action RPG while Dragon Age has you "cast" all of your abilities. Although after Dragon Age II you can argue that it is an action game now. If that's the case then this combat doesn't stand anywhere close to Dark Souls.

Combat in Dragon Age: Origins was pretty good, but that's a completely different type of combat, more reminiscent to KOTOR and Baldur's Gate.
