Lol yeah there were only like 2 or 3 that looked decent.

I was just being funny with the way I looked. I'm trying to debate whether to start over or continue my save. Decisions decisions. Lol.

My 6 hours is over, just pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition from EA Access. Really enjoying the game and I dont even really know how to play lol, I know its going to get even better once I know what im doing. Going to buy the strategy guide too (I think the last time I bought a strategy guide was back in the PS2 days), because this is my first time playing a DA game and its not a simple game to learn.
Going to start over from the beginning once released, think im going with a male human two handed warrior. Too bad I wont be able to really put time im this game til the week after Thanksgiving, since it wasnt on my radar I didnt take time from work on launch day like I usually do.

                Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Played an hour or so last night. Cool game. My question mark is the fighting system. I don't really feel like it is that responsive coming from Dark Souls. Maybe I am missing something, but I can't even use my shield.

So to me, the combat system is a weakness so far. I just spam X then Y, than use B as a shield for a second and then spam RT.

It just doesn't feel like what I was expecting. Game looks awesome though. I still have 5 hours left to play.

This game is more in the lineage of a Baldurs Gate. It's not a action RPG. It's considered RTwP (real time combat with pause)

A lot of dice rolls and stat check go into combat. It is more about your character, armor, trinkets, and weapon stats than your stick skill.

It's sad we have to do this.

I'll stick around till the first spoiler gets posted without tags.
I'll be pissed I read it.
I'll report & request a for the poster. (If I was a mod, my hammer on spoiler posters would be swift without hesitations. I probably wouldn't last long as one.)
Then I'll leave for a while.

How do you get more healing potion? Dont like that the game auto saves mid battle, now everyone in my crew is low on health, I have no more healing potion and the game loads right in the middle of a battle and I keep dying!

Thats cool, may not be my cup of tea due to this, since I love action RPGs. But I will keep playing.

But what a great world to walk around in. It's awesome. I wish Destiny had a world this vast (like they advertised).

Go rest at a camp or select the potions table in your camp. Also for everything but health potions (I had a stone armor potion recipe I found) you got to use the dpad up and down to select the character and equip the potion. You also got to do the same thing when replenishing them. The stone potions cost 1 elven plant (Not sure the name) each to make. My party could hold up to 4 each so thats 16 plants all together to replenish them all full.

I can see my time digging into the crafting of armor and weapons in this game. In my 6 hours I found a couple of plans and such, I cant wait to see what comes next and I fully expect myself to be in the first area at least 10 hours. Also on my friends game I went to an area I never explored before on my character (In 6 hours....o_O) and got immediately destroyed. Lol. Not mentioning the enemy as to not spoil anyone.

Also for those new to the series dont forget to check out the tactics menu. It is basically orders you can have your party issue automatically instead of doing it every battle to your party. Like for example you can make Cassandra first priority to aggro the enemies so you can have crowed control. You can also have her protect certain party members if they are attacked and even set up at what percentage they use health pots (Ex: 75%, 50%, 25%, etc). Its a very deep system and if its anything like Dragon Age Origins then a very important system to learn. Controlling the battlefield and figuring out the priority of enemies to target, aggro, etc is very important.

I also thinks its a little odd that this game has no healing spells. Makes things a little more tactical which can be fun and frustrating at the same time. There is a spell that allows you to resurrect comrades when they fall (Which is a must IMO) and lots of barriers to learn. Without healing spells these spells will become even more crucial.

God I can not wait until I get home tomorrow morning from work (Night shift fail...) so I can dive head deep into this game. I got all my errands done and dont work tuesday night so its going to be energy drink and surge all nighter. Lol. All I got to get done is laundry and the best part about that is you dont have to pay attention to it the whole time.

Dear God, do not mention Baldur's Gate in reference with a game I just pre-ordered...

I'm leery enough as it is to sink cash, of which I have little, into a game series I've largely ignored.
