    Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Just picked up my copy today & put in a few hours. Game reminds me so much of Origins & I loved that game!

My question is, What sex did you go with when creating your character? I started Human male but went back & made a female instead. I think its more....... sexy? haha

Made it to Skyhold and ran into the voice changing bug. I had a save prior, so I was able to reload. BioWare is aware of it and for those that are curious:

        Spoiler

Also, had multiple conversations just freeze, then pickup midway through and minor DOF issues on closeups. Didn't experience any before this point in the game. Playing on PS4.

I have played this series with a female elf mage but I do not like the look of the elven women on offer and it is causing me to stumble on what I want to play as haha.

I just fooled around properly with the character creation tools. Wow. Very powerful.

              Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I'm at about 12 hours in and now am really falling for this game. I'm finally feeling the combat a little. Using the tactical in the really tough fights. Still not what I prefer in RPG as far as combat but much better than DA2. I think I'm also just now realizing the scope of this game. 150-200 hours feels like what it's gonna end up with. I don't think I've even really touched the main quest.

Not on purpose I'm just kind of going around doing stuff. The variety of interesting places in Fereldon alone are mind boggling. I just kind of want to explore all of it.

My biggest beef is still the inventory system. It's just clunky as hell. But something I'll live with in a game I'm becoming smitten for.

                Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I really dont like the desert area (I forget the name of it, Oasis?}. Its one giant maze! I cant ever get my bearings.

Anyway after 12 hours of gameplay Ive reached the first major decision of the inquisitor and I just cant choose. One of those pick one thing and get locked out of the other type of deals. So instead Ive decided to clear out Hinterlands, Coast, Gravyardland (I forget the name of this one too) and Oasisland.

Im having more fun with this game than I anticipated. I really couldnt get into DAO or DA2. This one made it much more simpler and fun for me. It takes the best from both games. 60 dollars well spent.

                  Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Yeah, I am a completist and I am clearing all of the Hinterlands before even moving on to the next story mission where you meet with the mages and the Templars and try to make peace in Orlais. Just ordered the strategy guide for the harder to find things.

Great game and has kept me from even starting Far Cry 4, which was one of my most awaited games of the year.

I'm about 20 hours in now. Got a few more party members and then finished up that first big decision in the main story. I feel like I have barely even made a dent. It's all just so overwhelmingly awesome.

I am kind of annoyed with the tactical cam though. It becomes useless when in a room with a low ceiling for example, because it blocks the camera from zooming out. Some general clumsiness when in tactical camera in trying to move the cursor around as well.

Yeah, a zoom out for the tactical camera is a must have. I think we'll see it in a patch.

What really sucks is that I can't get this game to work on my desktop computer but it does work on my laptop. It runs like a turtle but the game is so great, I'm still playing it.

Is there any point to doing Requisitions other than getting power points? It seems like they're never ending.

I enjoyed this during the 6hr trial but I am going to wait to pick this up. I really enjoyed it but just want to finish playing the other games so I can sink all my time into this.

                            20 hours in.

I'm playing a DW Rogue and while it's still fun, there's some real annoyances with this class and playstyle in Inquisition. Against bosses and AoE attack happy enemies, you feel almost helpless and one-hit can mean the loss of 1/2-2/3 of your health. There's a lot of enemies in general that seem to be able to hit you, even when you're flanking and some can see through your Stealth in just a few seconds. There's no real safe way to approach and defensive tools are lacking. Evasion with its miniscule 5% chance to activate, is useless, and while Evade is fun to use, it's to slow. Parry is useless too because you need to be front-facing an enemy.

Another issue is the speed of combat and how much enemies move around, making it difficult to line up those backstabs or maintain a flanking position. There's just a lot of DPS downtime, as you're constantly having to readjust. This wasn't an issue in Origins because of the slower paced combat and when tanks drew aggro, enemies weren't moving around nearly as much. The game feels much more suited for either an Archery Rogue or a more offensive and blade throwing Rogue.

                              Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Game is is like an impenetrable miasma. And I love it. I'm going to be dealing with the sidequests and such for a long, long time. Only thing I don't really care for is having to run around like a chicken with no head in purple zones trying to find the one thing I'm looking for.

Or when the game glitches out and locks me in conversations, forcing me to mash square and hope for the best, while having to miss huge chunks of story/exposition I need.

I love just about every character in my party too. Except Iron Bull...maybe cause I allocated his stats wrong, but he keeps dying too fast. He hits hard, one of the few characters that can do triple digit damage with most of his attacks and I'm just a meager level 10 right now. But it doesn't really help overall.

I'm also surprised by the volume of romance options. But I think I'm gonna roll with Lelianna this playthrough.

Edit: Anywho, I feel the need to clear something up, even though it's a ways back.

I was like and let me take him with me as well. Lol. Im guessing they did it for a more tactical approach to combat as to not use it as a crutch. Make your Health pots and Buff spells more important.

I never played Baldur's Gate. I was mixing the game with Too Human. Main character was named Baldur. And the game was so awful, anything that reminds me of it makes me wanna break things.
