I don't think I've even really touched the main quest.

Not on purpose I'm just kind of going around doing stuff. The variety of interesting places in Fereldon alone are mind boggling. I just kind of want to explore all of it.

My biggest beef is still the inventory system. It's just clunky as hell. But something I'll live with in a game I'm becoming smitten for.
This is pretty much my take too. I'm about 13-14 hours in, and as I was shutting it down last night I was thinking, I'm going to put 200 plus hours into this game for sure. This is not counting the eventual story DLC that they will release.

As you say, the combat is not my preferred style, but seeing as how I consider the narrative, characters, and exploration to be top shelf, it's not something that is diminishing my enjoyment of the game at all.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I am a DW rogue as well. I guess the idea is to use the tactical approach to combat to balance out the weaknesses of the various classes. It is strange to me that the DW rogue seems to be the only DPS class. It seems like both warrior builds are tanks.

Anyone else have Audio issues? I've had a few times where convos dropped or ambient sound seemed off.

On the x1. I'm finding the UI clumsy at the moment. Specifically the tactical camera. Hoping it gets better.

Question: When I give an ally a command in tactical mode, say to attack enemy X, will they keep following the command or do they attack enemy X once and move on to the next thing their AI tells them to do? I thought once I told the Templar to attack an enemy, she hit it once and then went to another enemy.

                  Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Okay, seriously, what is with the bears in this game? They do NOT STOP CHASING YOU! I picked a fight with some bandits, and the bears focused on us instead of both of us like I figured. And they were tough Hinterland bandits that I'd rather focus on solo. But then a bear joins the fun, so I book. And the damn thing keeps after me. And as I go, I run into ANOTHER bear. And it decides to join the fun. So hear I am, unwilling to fight them cuz who wants the bother, and unable to fast travel away because it was a fight and you can't fast travel from fights.

It's not like they were too strong for me. It's more that I didn't wanna be bothered but JEEZ. They must be Stephen Colbert fans or something in BioWare.

Hair is really, really hard. Even in CGI movies, they made Toy Story rendering plastic dolls, dogs with flat hair textures, and avoided showing Andy and his mother as much as possible because rendering hair is a beast to deal with.

Let alone in a game where the engine has dozens of things going on simultaneously.

But no, really, I'm disappointed in how bad the hair looks. A pity because the game itself is really beautiful.

And yes, the rogue is all about max damage output in a short amount of time. And most of the passive abilities are designed to get the enemy to not focus on you, especially when you flank 'em.

Blackwall and Cassandra are my tanks, with Cassandra also having sweet debuf skills. I find her in every party I use. She's crazy effective against demons and mages.

Its just clunky. You can select a character and then run the tactical out to an enemy and pick which attack you want. It kinda works but sometimes its flat out impossible to locate the enemy with a targeting circle, say a fire monster standing on a rock in a rift battle, or one of those damn floating ice witches.

You can also tell your mages and archers to defend instead of follow by going up on the pause wheel and selecting tactics I think. Its the one where you can toggle what point to use health potions.

That is also clunky as in sometimes it works. Sometimes it works for one battle and reverts, sometimes it changes after taking the first hit from the enemy.

It just sucks the range characters dont stay away default.

Why would I want a lightly armored mage standing next to my quinari warrior in battle, a mage who is also wearing a flanking bonus ring?

Even getting someone to run over and revive someone during battle with the tactical cam is painful...

Make sure you go into each characters tactics and set them up Iike you want. Can do this at any time.

The rest of today is all DA time.
I'm sure I'd have cooler stuff etc.. if I tore open the guide but I really love finding things out for my own so don't want to be tempted. Plus I collect them (Which I have no idea why..but I do)
Will make the second play through even more fun.

Need to learn more about the crafting but I have crafted a few items. At times I get a little overwhelmed but I'll get through it.

What I'm concentrating on right now is getting a backlog of quests done.. instead of just exploring all the time.

I've reach Level 10, haven't done much at all in the main quest. explored most of Hinterlands, storm coast, and the Fallow Mire. jumping back on the main quest know to catch up.

DAI is definitely more fun than DA2 was. not sure if I would put it over DAO yet.

As much as I loved DA1 DA:I has been more fun for me. They aren't far apart though and each are great.

Doing pretty well right now clearing out quests. Just trying to stop urge to keep wondering around.

So I hit the first major milestone finally. I was clearing all quests before continuing with the main story. Then out of nowhere the game dumped like 40 objectives on my head. I had to give the game a break. There is just SO MUCH to do, and thats not even counting how in depth the character specs and gear get and managing all you party members. I feel like I need to respec them all after being thrown a curve ball with that too. I gotta decompress lol.
