      Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Here is my thoughts from a new Dragon Age player: (PC)

+ Game is beautiful. Armor sheen and detail is really top notch. This is obviously highly dependent on your rig but its stunning. You can tell that the drivers are not fully optimized yet but that'll be worked out. The game hits hard as well. My CPU and GPU were getting a beating.

+ Yeah, the key layout is a bit funky but by no means required me to pull out a console controller. It does take getting used to.

+ Combat is very fast. I kind of want to appreciate the battles but its lightning fast. I think the tactical camera is the way to go here otherwise there is a lot of button mashing.

+ The flow is nice. I like how you walk and have to answer questions and make decisions. Makes the flow great.

This kind of RPG (for me) is going to take some getting used to but i get where they are going here.

I had Sera in my party and boy was she thrilled to see a Giant fight a Dragon. She would not shut up about it.

I mean yeah, on one hand, how often do you see that? But it's not like we had not done a bunch of crazy stuff leading up to it. I have to admit, I did sit there and watch it for awhile as well.
yeah, I believe that was it. I don't remember giants being in DA universe though. so that was odd. I was just level 4/5 at the time, so I didn't really want to risk it, although I eventually said f it, I'll try it anyway, but he was gone.

Don't click if you don't want to know. This relates to the dragon vs giant fight.

            Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Started over with an archer rogue last night and had more fun than with my previous warrior, though I think the warrior would be easier to play with. Got about 5 hours in and enjoyed it. I love the scale. There is still lots I don't understand, like how to upgrade Verric's weapon. I bought an aiming upgrade early in the game but have no idea how to use/equip it.

I won't lie, I am more of an action RPG fan and I prefer the combat style of a game like Dragon's Dogma, which I thought was excellent. Still, in this game so far I pretty much just control my character and let the rest of the party do their own thing in combat. So far they seem to do fine.

Still so much to see in the Hinterlands!

Go to the blacksmith armorer guy near the stable in haven.

You can modify and craft weapons there.

I wish Dragons Dogma would get some xbox one/ps4 love.

Played a little of dragons Dogma. Seemed really cool and looked like it really became interesting later when ya unlocked some of those crazy abilities. Have to refire that one day.

Is there a way to tell what level you should be before attempting a rift?

I wasn't a fan of Skyrim. I do like RPGs though, especially playstation 1/2 era Final Fantasy. Gonna rent from GameFly...don't want to waste my money like I did with Skyrim (a fun game to watch others play; I just didn't enjoy playing it).

In a perfect world it doesn't, but we don't live there.

If you go into tactical cam you should be able to highlight an enemy and see their level. Also, a skull will show up if they're too high a level.

By the time the op demons spawn its too late.

Anyway, the days of me sucking and doing no damage with my rouge are over. I finally learned how to use the build. My guy is a beast. Went back to rifts that owned me and demolished them. Felt good man.

Solace and Verric seem pretty useless so far, their attacks dont do much damage and half the time they are so far back from the action I forget they are their!
