Man, Skyhold is gigantic. I just got there this morning and must have spent 3 or 4 hours just walking around exploring and talking to people. Now there's even MORE stuff to do. This is insane.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Okay, seriously, what is with the bears in this game? They do NOT STOP CHASING YOU! I picked a fight with some bandits, and the bears focused on us instead of both of us like I figured. And they were tough Hinterland bandits that I'd rather focus on solo. But then a bear joins the fun, so I book. And the damn thing keeps after me. And as I go, I run into ANOTHER bear. And it decides to join the fun. So hear I am, unwilling to fight them cuz who wants the bother, and unable to fast travel away because it was a fight and you can't fast travel from fights.
It's not like they were too strong for me. It's more that I didn't wanna be bothered but JEEZ. They must be Stephen Colbert fans or something in BioWare.
Hair is really, really hard. Even in CGI movies, they made Toy Story rendering plastic dolls, dogs with flat hair textures, and avoided showing Andy and his mother as much as possible because rendering hair is a beast to deal with.
Let alone in a game where the engine has dozens of things going on simultaneously.
But no, really, I'm disappointed in how bad the hair looks. A pity because the game itself is really beautiful.
And yes, the rogue is all about max damage output in a short amount of time. And most of the passive abilities are designed to get the enemy to not focus on you, especially when you flank 'em.
Blackwall and Cassandra are my tanks, with Cassandra also having sweet debuf skills. I find her in every party I use. She's crazy effective against demons and mages.
lmaoooo I ran my *** off from two bears for about 10 minutes. I was scared as hell and didn't expect thatComment

Thanks for the responses to my questions. I wish they gave me more options under NPC behaviors....still a great game with flaws is better than a meh game with few glitchesDON'T PANICComment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
well, I was going to start back on the main quest, then another area popped up to explore. lol
20 hours in, just hit Level 11, and I think I've only done 1-2 parts of main quest after Prologue.Comment

Dragon Age III: Inquisition
The rest of today is all DA time.
I'm sure I'd have cooler stuff etc.. if I tore open the guide but I really love finding things out for my own so don't want to be tempted. Plus I collect them (Which I have no idea why..but I do)
Will make the second play through even more fun.
Need to learn more about the crafting but I have crafted a few items. At times I get a little overwhelmed but I'll get through it.
What I'm concentrating on right now is getting a backlog of quests done.. instead of just exploring all the time.
I gotta figure out how to get runes for your weapons/armor. I assume that comes up a bit later in the game. I have crafted so really nice weapons and armor, but runes would just add another dimension. I have the strategy guide coming Monday so that should help.
About 17 hours in, still stuff to do in the Hinterlands.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Dragon Age all day for me. I just got to Skyhold.
Bioware has brought the feelings back from ME1, Jade Empire, SWKOTR, DA:O...
Every little annoyance I have, can be overlooked. It feels like the game is just starting. Wow, this is getting really good.
Edit: Quick Tip: you can edit your parties abilities they use by marking them favorites/enabled/disabled. It's in the Character screen under abilities. If you don't use the tactical view in combat, this helps with what the AI does.Last edited by Chizzypoof; 11-22-2014, 08:03 PM.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
The depth of this game is simply crushing.
And the replay value is through the roof with different Inquisitor builds and world state alterations. I'm rolling with a "mages should be free" world state and I'm loving the dissenting arguments. I never played the other games, but I find myself agreeing with Vivienne.
Also, Iron Bull is my favorite character, but least favorite party member. He dies too often and I can't be baby sitting him all the time. He needs to be right in the fray or he's useless...which kinda makes him useless. I'd rather grind out a fight than keep being down a heavy hitter every fight. Most of my potions go on him. But I'm super impressed by Freddy Prince Jr's voice acting job.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Anyways:
I have reached 30 hours in and am taking a break for tonight. I got quite a few quests done and moved the story on a bit.
I finally (Don't know why it took me so long) got the crafting down.
Game is still a blast and tomorrow will be another dayJoshua:

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I was feeling a bit weak as an archer rogue, but crafted me up a really nice Bow that gives me +27 Dex, now I'm doing massive damage. the base damage(DPS) of the bow is not high, but I'm guess the +27 Dex boost the overall damage by a lot, puts my overall Dex to 54 at the moment.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I decided to respec my Rogue to Archery to try it out, and my first reaction was...
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/PSZRKICSEq8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Played for a couple hours and it's pretty fun. The entire Archery tree is fantastic. Paired with the Assassin Spec for Mark of Death, and passives in automatic crit from stealth, kills removing any cooldown on stealth, and 25% armor pen. Plus upgraded Poisoned Weapons from Sabotage tree.
Assassin spec fits with the way I want to play and it's nice it has great synergy with archery too. Also, even though you don't have a dagger equipped, Hidden Blades is a ranged attack and works with archery.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
The AI behavior menu seems shallow. Is it? It seems to only give the choice of defend or follow. Does the follow command mean follow me, but do what you want in combat?DON'T PANICComment
