    Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I find that I never make a party without Vivienne. In fact, I control her, more than I control my rogue. I just love her sword thing. Cuz I get right up on those infernal pride demons. They start to laugh and before they finish, I've hacked away all the guard it just built up.

Same with the freakishly large dude's with the hammer.

Also...apparently I was unaware there were regions in certain areas that have a bunch of giants walking around. I was minding my own biz trying to plant my flag on a bunch of landmarks clustered together when I find myself in a giant sandwich. Uh uh. No thank you.

I never really understood what guard was before today either, so I never tried to build it. I now use bull rush with my 2H warrior whenever I come up to enemies and they typically never even take any of my health away.

As much as there is to learn in this game and I never knew what guard was. SMH.

I'm still a bit confused on guard. Care to share your learnings?

          Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

From what I gather, any ability that builds guard (it should say in the skill tree if it does) adds "extra" health for your character that has to be destroyed before enemies actually do damage to your health. It's signified by the grey bar over your health bar.

Do you mean how to get the KE skill tree, or what skills to actually focus on when you get it?

I was a level 24 mage when I finally moved on from him so Im not too sure how I progressively leveled it. But I focused on using my barrier to supercharge spells.

Once you unlock it, immediately respec with the amulet.

Fill out every skill in the KE tree except defending blade and disruption; just not necessary. You dont really need resurgence either unless you find yourself wiping alot.

In the spirit tree fill out Barrier, guardian spirit, mind blast and strength of spirits. You dont need to use any of the active spells in this tree. The passive ones are the important ones. Dont bother casting barrier either, unless youre the only mage in your party and you feel you need your goons to have barriers.

Dont bother with the storm tree

In Winter get the Fade Step and Frost Step. Also get Winter's grasp as it synergies with your spirit blade. Get Mana Surge if you like, although its just gravy at this point.

Then Inferno. Get all skills but flashfire and wall of fire.

So basically you spam spirit blade, and fade clock. Your barrier will keep regenerating itself. You have a 100% barrier bonus due to passives. Then you cast Fire Mine which due to passives drains half your superbarrier to do outrageous damage.

The class is op really because of fade cloak and how fast the cooldowns are due to your passives. It makes you invincible, removes status effects and does outrageous damage if you do it right, then it regens your entire barrier most of the time.

How do I get the class specialization agents to Skyhold? I'm there, and don't see the mission to obtain them at the War Table.

This is game of the year for me without a doubt. I have spent multiple 5 hour sessions playing this game and I never do that with any game. I have played until 3:00 am and had to get up at 5:30 for work. It owns me right now.

                  I just caved in...

Literally just picked this game up (along with FC4) ....

...and don't know which one to start first....I have TOO MANY games to play! Why did I do this to myself.

For sure. I was overwhelmed at first, but now that I have my bearings about me, I can't stop playing.

Although I will say that I FINALLY had almost everything necessary completed at Haven, and then, after making it to Skyhold, the War Room map and my quest log are completely overwhelmed again.

Not that it's a bad thing.

I'm not sure what triggers it. Check your journal under Inquistor Path or whatever that's called. See if the mission is there first. You might not have triggered it yet.

But I do know that it was in the northern area in Ferelden when I had my warrior build, but I accidentally deleted it.

Is there somewhere that it shows your game stats (how many enemies killed, etc?)

Also, I posted this a few pages back, I found since my xbox is in that instant mode, the save game files are taking that that time into account. Says now I have played for 80 hours, when the xbox only shows it at 14. Wonder why it is doing that.

I disagree about the storm tree. The way I set up my KE was to get barrier from the spirit. Get flame mine from the fire tree then get the storm power that's 3rd on the right. It's a passive that makes you spells more powerful the less spirit you have. That with your full barrier and Flame mine has nuked for lots of damage usually killing everything in 1 hit besides bosses.

You can at a later level grab the freeze mine for anything fire immune.

Here's a short example of my early KE build.

You have to reach level 10 to unlock the specializations. The operation should be on the War Room map on the Ferelden side.

Edit: After reading your KE builds, I realize my build is terrible. I am a fly by the seat of your pants first play through guy.

I am level 10, and it's not in the War Room map.

I'll just finish up this main quest and head back to see if it's there.
