I read somewhere you can give your companions loot. Can you only do this in Haven or can you do it in the field?

HP bloat is such an annoying, lazy and uninteresting way of 'increasing the difficulty'.

Is there some sort of guide somewhere on the crafting armor and all that? I don't understand the upgrading and especially the leg parts, arm part, etc.

Finally messed around with my party after getting to Skyhold and finishing a few quests. Swapped out Cassandra with Blackwall, and he's a MUCH better tank. He always has full guard and just stands there absorbing punishment.

Also swapped Solas for Vivienne, and I can see why everyone thinks Knight Enchanter is OP. Just spam Spirit Blade after getting the Fade Shield, and she rarely loses health, if ever. Not to mention being able to fully revive a party.

Having so much fun with this game. I'm 26 hours in, and I feel like it's just starting.

Not for me too many bugs. Shadow of Mordar, though not as deep, was a far more polished product and the pacing/story telling was better as was the gameplay. Thus far I've had broken quests, missing sound effects / voice overs (missing entire archs/conversations), messed up animations, items floating in air, or items in rocks/walls/etc, just to name a few. I know, everyone will say 'it's so big there are going to be bugs', but I refuse to accept that mind set. Games/software CAN be delivered in far better shape than what studios release them in today. And the missing VO in conversations, an audio bug carried over from DAII is simply unacceptable on any level for me.

It's a good game, but holy cow is it utlra repetitive. Feels like the trudge of all trudges right now and I doubt I'm even halfway through the story line. When the story does progress it's pretty good, just everything feels so repetitive and the majority of the quests are meaningless filler.

How much time/hours are you guys putting in to play the game? Are you completing all the quests or just the main story ones?

I'm surprised you have had broken quests, I have yet to have one yet. Also the repetiveness is only by choosing. Alot of it can outright be skipped.

As far as the missing VO if you let it there for a minute or 2 or press X on Xbone (Square on PS4) you can get it to start working again. However I do agree with you that it is annoying.

As for floating objects and such they are occasional occurrences in every Open World game to date. Fallout, Far Cry, GTA, Skyrim, etc....Hell I remember in Red Dead having a whole town and a wagon shoot straight up into the sky then fall to their deaths.

I just finished the game at 140 hours. I did everything but get the missing mosaic pieces, find the tombs in the hissing wastes, about 2 areas i got a few locations and land marks to find, got to kill 2 more high dragons and get the banners, thrones, etc for skyhold.

                    This is also my GOTY.

I haven't had any bugs outside of the occasional crash on PC. I can't speak for the console versions though, my PS4 DE is still in shrinkwrap.

Not only broken quests. It has failed on saving (got stuck) had to kill/restart game, losing some gameplay.

I've tried everything on the missing audio. The only thing that seems to help avoid the problem is if I restart the game every couple of hours. Think it must be a memory leak of some sort that only affects the audio.

I'm at 100 hours. At Skyhold and in the Gray Warden area. I pretty much do whatever is in front of me for the area until it's complete (if it's 'completable'). Some quests aren't completable in an area as they depend on other things from other areas (Hissing Wastes I think is a good example).

Beautiful looking game, just too many bugs that constantly annoy for my tastes, and the UI took a huge step backwards from previous iterations which is simply mind boggling considering it should be one of the easiest items for them to implement and at least keep static. Think I'm getting crotchety in my old age. With so many games out there, it's frustrating to be dealing with bugs in a game that wasn't quite ready for release.

There are some obnoxious bugs in this game. Once my r stick went completely unresponsive, the skills buttons on the bottom right of the screen vanished, enemies appearing out of thin air all the time, the action button (x on Playstation) went unresponsive so I couldn't talk to anybody and turn in quests.

Then one time the sky hold lobby didn't load right and I say on the throne. That locked my game and corrupted two auto save files and 2 hard save files. Luckily I only lost 2 hours of gameplay and had older files to start from.

The game has a load of bugs.

Yikes. I'm only about 18 HR in or so and kinda at the start of skyhold, but I haven't seen anything like that. Those sound pretty nasty.

Hopefully a patch drops before I hit the second half.

So what skills should I give my companions? I guess if I'm a mage specializing in cold spells I should give Solas fire right? What about Varric?

Varric specializes in archery. Stay mostly in that tree. You can add things like poison which is nice.

Make sure between the mages you take out that you have at least 1 offensive spell from each group: ice, fire, lightning & spirit. You need that to open some areas. Other than that, do as you will. I have a fire-based Mage, an electricity based Mage and Solas, who I made more well rounded.

My character is a rogue archer/assassin. When I go out I always take at least 1 warrior and 1 Mage and usually either Varric or a knife-based rogue that deals massive damage. Sometime a second warrior. It depends on if the quest I am doing requires a certain character to be in the party.

It's an awesome game. Have fun!
